Marmot a trois - Although I have been lucky to watch marmots at play before, this was the first time I've seen three of them keeping the game going. Probably siblings.

Fall Color along the PCT Sept 2008 Phto by David Hagen

Photos from The Enchantments. Soaking up the fall season while the larches are in their prime time. The landscape changed as the sun rose higher. Started with golden misty morning views with a finale of an unreal blue lake. It was great to see so many people enjoying a day hike or backpacking further!

Neff Haus, Harmony, Butler County, Pennsylvania. I wonder what the people who built this 19th-century house would think of those big thick lines swinging overhead. And we can be quite sure the house was at street level when it was built. The road was probably raised to improve the steep pitch leading up a nearby slope.

"You know that feeling you get when you're being watched? I got that feeling as I stopped on the trail to sort something out in my pack. I turned around to see this mother and baby goat standing there looking at me, not 10 feet away. Trying to be stealthy so as not to scare them, I reached for my camera and was able to snap just a handful of shots shot before they moved away. I especially like this photo for the action in the scene. The nanny is caught mid-stride as she moves away. The kid seems confused and looks as if he is trying to decide whether to go with his mother or stay and check me out a bit longer."
