Unfamiliar with Canary Warf, I walked around about 1.5 hours to find nice photo spots. Unfortunately the clouds on this evening blocked the sunset. So I hoped for the blue hour and a nice combination of natural and artificial light.
This point of view is south of the center of Canary Warf, looking north west. The combination of the wooden ceiling and boardwalk with the modern buildings and the reflections in the water seemed to me very interesting.
Some moderate post processing added more structure, especially to the sky and water.
Just returned from a nice trip to California to visit family. Such a beautiful place... glad I brought my camera!
Aktuell ist zu beobachten, dass die Hvle Getreidezüge aus Ostdeutschland nach Neuss operiert. In den letzten Wochen passierte dies meist mittwochs und am Folgetag ging es dann wieder retour. Vor einigen Wochen hing sogar ein Tiger der Hvle an solch einem Zug, hier im Westen der Republik eine Seltenheit.
Am 15 Juni 2022 laß ich die Meldung, dass erneut ein Getreidezug unter Flagge der Hvle nach Neuss unterwegs war. Zuglok sollte 159 003 sein, welche als einzige Hvle Eurodual dunkelgraue Streifen an den Seiten trägt. Praktisch war, dass am 16 Juni ein Feiertag in NRW war. Also beschloss ich gegen Nachmittag nach Kaarst Tilmeshof zu fahren und mein Glück zu versuchen. Meiner Regierung war es zu heiß in der prallen Sonne zu sitzen, also musste ich alleine los. Das Wetter spielte zum Glück auch noch mit, aber im Westen waren bereits dichtere Wolkenfelder zu beobachten. Gegen 17:30h kam ich in Kaarst an und baute erstmal meinen Krempel auf. Ich war mir noch nicht ganz einig, ob ich den Zug spitzer oder seitlicher aufnehmen sollte, als das Signal für Nordfahrer auf Fahrt umsprang. Also warf ich einen prüfenden Blick in Richtung Neuss und konnte mein Glück nicht fassen, denn die Hvle Eurodual war bereits in der Ferne zu sehen. Und so konnte ich bereits 10 Minuten nach meiner Ankunft die Hvle 159 003 mit ihrer langen Leine an Wascosa Tagnpps erfolgreich ablichten. Zu meiner Freude war der Wagenpark stilrein und kaum von hässlichen Grafittis verunstaltet.
Zufrieden wurden die Sachen gepackt und zu Hause noch der Grill angeworfen.
The East Warf Lighthouse on Lake Hefner in Oklahoma city was based off of the second oldest lighthouse in the country located in Brant Point, MA. Even though this lighthouse does not stand on the coast, it is built to withstand the many tornados that dance across Oklahoma every year. It is functional flashing a red light pattern.

Anders ist es kaum zu erklären, dass sich die Lok im 113-Laufplan nur äußerst selten vor den Nachtzügen in NRW blicken ließ. Am 10. März 2002 passte aber das Wetter mit der seltenen, eingetretenen Situation zusammen. Mit dem "Donauwalzer" CNL 212 aus Wien (den sie ab Frankfurt bespannte) verlässt die Lok Essen Hbf zum Endspurt nach Dortmund.

Went for a drive on an overcast Sunday. Stopped along the Fraser river for a minute and this tug happened along.
Ar this point in the Courtenay river the water is a mix of fresh and salt water when the tide is high, since the river empties into the Pacific ocean less than a kilometer downstream.
Old Port Townsend ferry slip. I can remember all the traffic issues it caused. The new terminal is behind Union Warf in the background. This location was decommissioned in 1982.
