A memory of a great time. I drove exactly this VW Golf GTI car in the late 70s, back in 1978 it was a rocket, it was awesome at that time!

When I was coming back from the viaduct .
I came across this VW camper parked across from the snack van and had to take a picture on a overcast day this really did add a dash of colour and brighten the landscape up

On display at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. The license plate frame shows the dealer name of Chick Iverson, Newport Beach, California. Iverson sold Porsches, too.
Sometimes you just find things that can only be described as 'the best thing ever'!!
This Volkswagon Bus has been shortened enough that the front & rear wheels are just over a foot apart. In talking with the Owner, he told me that he has had this VW for 25 years and it is, other than the shortening, all original. When asked by someone else if it would pop a wheelie, the answer was "yes" with a large smile on his face. The only problem was that the wheelie's routinely tears out the rear end. He also said that he is in the finishing stages of building another one. I got some contact info but don't think he's willing to part with even the second one...
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D5200 and combined with Photomatix to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.
