This video starts with Mei's second slide down the hill in six minutes, but unfortunately we can only see her rolling at the top to build up some momentum. Meanwhile, Tian Tian makes a surprising entrance in his yard and shows off his tumbling prowess.

Had this idea to try double exposure...

This species of stone coral is threatened by the decline of coral reefs, water temperatures increase causing bleaching, disease, climate change, fishing, the acidification of oceans, pollution and invasive species like the crown-of-thorns starfish (Acanthaster planci) - see image below.

(s. Foto unten)

Our third major leopard encounter was with a lovely female African leopard Panthera pardus pardus). It was nearly 7pm and the light was beginning to fade, but she was still clearly visible lying on a branch. After a while she sat up and looked out beyond our vehicles. I think dinner was on her mind. She must have seen something because she suddenly bounded down the tree to the ground, walked a bit through the grass, and then disappeared.

I really appreciate your comments and faves. I'm not a hoarder of contacts, but enjoy real-life, honest people. You are much more likely to get my comments and faves in return if you fit the latter description. Just sayin. :oD

We've broken each other's walls down to reveal that we are similar on the inside. Fearing vulnerabity we mask ourselves to rest of the world, but we are transparent to each other.

Vulnerability.

The photo is about how anyone is vulnerable to corruption and we wouldn't even know it's coming. It's like being naked and not have anything against it.

I really liked the reflection caused by the light on the water and asked Hannah to model for me in the water and she agreed without hesitation!

I was supposed to upload this sooner but I went on a trip to an amazing place called Sagada which is located north of the Philippines and it was just simply magical there I already miss the place.

Charlie in pensive mood

I have been taking so few photos recently, so am now having to dig into my archives most of the time. The few times I have been out, I have either seen nothing or nothing that I can photograph. I am longing for a day out with tons of things to see and photograph : )

When I visited the Calgary Zoo on 28 September 2014, I called in at the Penguin Plunge and found this Humboldt Penguin having a swim outside. This species is named after the cold water current it swims in, which is itself named after Alexander von Humboldt, an explorer.

"The status of this species is IUCN Red List: Vulnerable. Current Impacts on their numbers are El Niño and La Niña weather patterns, predators, tourism, competition with fisheries, habitat change. Humboldt penguins groom their feathers before breakfast. They rub oil from a gland at the base of the tail into their feathers and the edges of their wings. Humboldts also groom each other. This species digs nesting burrows in thick deposits of seabird guano (droppings)."

Intimate & Vulnerable

I know this is a probably not that great. Here is a poem I did in 2016: Title: Deluxe Controlled Confusion of art

Gaze and delight at elements from puzzling symbols and actions gorgeously intertwined. Visions and dreams of fictional meanings and thought come alive. In to what world do I see? Is this the art or is this the nightmare of thought. Should I keep sleeping or should I awake. Great mighty voices start knocking my emotions from the left then to the right. Ultimate strange sensations flying past and around me. Reflections in the sky’s open to mysterious transformations. There is thunder that blasts in to light. Every thing here seems so ironic so unreal. I question will everything just be slipping away. Saying in the great infinity can anyone still see me. But art continues living in the minds of the dreamers that hold to truths undenied. Even elusive of thy self don't be confused of real truths. Not one moment to dull to explore something unseen. With a wish there is great joy nothing to fear. Effortlessly in motion for your the traveler of dreams. Arise to all possibilities every thing is yours to open. A clear call to you to fly with open mind. You are the artist who share your dream or visions as a gift. Please always be free in your dreams. But however be selective in the truth you present to the world. That your art truly represents what you hope to accomplish. Your personal wisdom in your art can open up conversations only you can start. That is the freedom you can explore. We are all vulnerable but few are willing to explore and grow from it what a good night.

Don’t be afraid to Hold or Grasp someone’s hand and let them know they are special to you. Precious and Fragile is our human life our flesh is temporary - Our soul is eternal. Life is simply an ever changing thing and it is never perfect. So amplify your experience by letting people know you really care. Endless possibilities are every place so we can all feel more alive. What ever happens this year you will make. So make great every thing you do. The future will begin with your next step.

I'll show you my vulnerable side.

How you deal with it is your decision.

She had left behind the comforts of her old home for an ephemeral joy that she had lost. She did not belong anywhere; helpless and alone, she longed for a sustainable sense of happiness that, she realized, would never be found.

I love snails. I think they are cute and vulnerable. This one was climbing around on one of our night blooming cereus plants, and I'm not sure, but might have been snacking on it. I don't react to snails or bugs when they are eating one of my plants. Everything always seems to balance out and survive, but I will kill mosquitoes, because well, "they start the fight" by biting ME!

Hugs and thanks for viewing! =o)

I have struggled for about a month to post this photo, as I think it is quite beautiful, but it also shows my lady friend who suffers from the brain disease SCA 1. She is vulnerable, but also a very tough, brave and intelligent woman. Today I once more had to see her suffer in several ways and decided to post this photo.

This photo was shot in an ancient watermill. My friend had been there often when she was young. As we passed the watermill she said “I can’t get in there anymore. I will never see it again.” It does have an almost one-meter high step in the door. “Can’t” is something that does get very hard into my brain, so I lifted her with wheelchair and all into the watermill. Not my smartest move of the day, but if you look closely, you can see she gives me her best smile.

SCA 1 is an autosomal dominant disorder, meaning each person of a generation has 50% change to get the disease. In case of my friend both her grandfather and her father died of the disease and both she and her brother will die of the disease. This has led her mother into psychosis. Technically SCA 1 is caused by a mutation in the ATXN1 gene, resulting in malfunctioning of proteins in the cells of the cerebellum (little brain). The effect is that slowly all control on muscles is lost. Extremely short description of the disease! For more see for instance ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/spinocerebellar-ataxia-type-1

What does it mean in daily life? It starts with a swaying walk and declining articulation. People start to react on you as if you are drunk. Slowly hand-eye coordination starts to fail (Get yourself very drunk and try to put a key in a lock). You won’t be able to stand or walk anymore after a while. By this time, you won’t have colleagues anymore, very few friends will be still around, and your partner might have left you. Control over your bladder gets lost. Eyesight will leave you soon after, once again very slowly. You will get problems with swallowing. Imagine yourself choking multiple times a day. In the end you die from pneumonia or suffocation. My friend’s father choked on a biscuit.

So, can you help? As a matter of fact, you can. The 17 or so families that suffer from this disease in The Netherlands and Belgium have raised about €250,000 and our government has added 1.5 million more. Research has started and has made some progress. To continue research bucket loads of money are needed though, as the research is complex because of the rarity and the 36 variants of SCA. If you feel the need you can donate: NL18 INGB 0000 0008 60 on name of Hersenstichting, The Hague, citing “SCA 1”.

Edit: On May 20th 2021 my friend died of the consequences of her disease at the age of 36.

This self portrait series that I am doing is continuously helping me to realize that it's okay to be comfortable in your own skin. It's helping me to really put myself out there in a way that I've never done before, and i am gaining an appreciation for my own body that I never thought I could have.

As you can see I am feminine sexy dainty girly womanly and passable and ladylike. There's nothing more compelling to a man than a vulnerable woman.
