Primary Election Day in Hawaii. While the wife voted absentee at the mall
last week, I always like to hit the polls. It's raining, UH has a game this
afternoon, and primaries in a non-U.S. presidential election years are
always slow... We'll see how much the Akaka/Case and 2nd Congressional
District races do for turnout.

This is a shameless plug asking for my friends out there to vote for my photo in the Outdoor Photography Magazine Contest. Please! Link here for the contest. The prize for winning the people's choice competition is to be listed online as the winner. Doesn't sound like much, but it would make me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

July 14, 2014 - Voting proceeded smoothly as the students orderly casted their votes for their preferred candidates. The casting of votes started at 9am and lasted until 3 pm. After the tireless and hardworking student COMMELEC, led by chairwoman Ms. Alyssalene Raja, canvassed the votes until completion at 7pm. Special thanks to the COMMELEC for their dedication to their work.

Will she pick the donkey or the elephant?
Both of them picked the elephant, much to my chagrin. But we tried it again and it turns out - both picked whatever cookie was in her right hand. I have no idea how to interpret this political statement.
The result is on the screen -- votes for, against, and abstentions. All this is done with great speed, after discussions are over. All items ready for the vote are then taken one by one and voted upon.
