The idea for this photo was a bit of an accident, I had my camera setup for a long-ish exposure, but I was shooting hand held.

I ended up with a neat kind of effect, and after a few tries I came up with this.

Basically, I hit the shutter and rotated the camera through about 45 degrees.

I figured that these ducks were circling as a group to create a tornado of sorts to suck up material from below for feeding. Several small groups were spread out on the lake doing this. Canon R1 and 200 - 800 with 1.4x.
