A Voronoi structure falls like snow crystals and by using gravity it forms a random macro growing structure like snow crystals would do.

Voronoi tessellation creates unique geometric cells created by the use of an algorithm that controls the data that defines these cells. The iterations that can be made will then respond to the context of the location it has been placed.

 

A responsive and singular breakdown of geometry allows the beginnings of new form to being generated. Site specific units can appropriated and can be adaptive to context it sits in.

 

External elements affect and manipulated subtracted forms to generate internal light, key vista’s and to be environmentally friendly by re-use of rain water.

Na bitte - 'nen Haufen Einstellungen ändern, wobei die Hälfte davon Unsinn war, ... und schon funktioniert's!

10tsd Graspartikel x 4 Childs = 40tsd Grashalme auf dieser Fläche. Die Renderzeit wurde allerdings länger: 16min für 80 Samples.

 

Dazu bekam die Gelbgrüne noch etwas Voronoi-Intensity-Textur, Scale 7, Mixer Velvet 0,3 + Diffus 0,7 und die gleiche Voronoi-Textur noch einmal für's optische Displacement (Multiplikator: -0,3) - das war's.

 

Das Gras besteht jetzt aus 3 verschiedenen Halmen: grün, gelbgrün und fast weiß, die Größe ist stärker zufällig: irgendwas zwischen 70% & 100%.

 

Jetzt überzeugt es mich sogar - nur fehlt noch das Unkraut, ich habe allerdings nicht vor, das einzusetzen. Obwohl: 'N schöner Löwenzahn wär doch durchaus sehenswert, oder? Mal sehen.

 

Der nur-grüne Stengel sieht mittlerweile richtig mickrig aus.

 

Und meine Empfehlung ist natürlich wieder: Lightbox + F11

Experiment in space filling an arbitrary NURBS Brep with a smoothed 3D Voronoi structure. Made using Grasshopper 3D within Rhino3D
