Still experimenting. Forgot about an old script-fu called Voronoi path. Makes for a very clean tile. This result's sort of a hybrid between mosaic and stained glass (still a work in progress; lol). :)

Snow Voronoi at Prediction Sim. 2300m

This snow voronoi was used for a machinima of Rose Borchovski aka Saskia Boddeke for the Peter Greenaway Movie at Warsaw for the opening of the Copernicus Science Museum.

 

The Snow Voronoi was also filmed and on display at Biennale Internationale de Design de Saint-Etienne, France.

Plaster cast in deformed laser etched fabric describing spatial, temporal and programmativ relationships in villa bordeaux.

7 algorithms were used to create generative butterfly wing patterns. Some were done with Processing, some were done with C++, all were challenging in their own ways. Represented are angular voronoi, B-spline voronoi, circle packing, intersecting lines, flow lines, flow circles, and B-spline cracking. This is part of a Barbarian Group installation for the McLeod Residence.

Audio-reactive graphics, rendered in real-time on Processing. A group of particles are driven by a flow-field that reacts to sound's amplitude. Along the track the particles move around the screen with unpredictable paths generated by the sound inputs on the flow-field. Different types of visualizations are explored: the particles, the flow-field, and Voronoi cells created by the particles’ positions.

 

Created in Processing (works on v3), captured and recorder with Syphon. Voronoi cells made with Mesh library by Lee Byron.

I have crocheted around each stone or pebble with a unique one of a kind pattern.

 

The stone/pebble has the most say on how a piece looks due to the special tensions around the form.

TABLE LAMP XX BUTTERFLY

 

Nature and math is an ocen of inspiration. The organic pattern contains three structures (plus butterflies main lines) and each of them is based upon Voronoi diagram – one of those mathematical oddities (like fractals) that turns up frequently in the world of nature.

The head of the lamp is made of Senegalese gourd. Its diameters are 27 and 23cm.

Thickness of the gourd is about 1cm so the structure is quite deep and it is carved on three different depth levels.

Height of the whole lamp is 48cm.

The diameter of the base is 28cm and it is finished with dark brown jeweler waxed string.

The end of the base is carved from wood.

On the top of the lamp is closing part locked with little magnets.

A Hermétique Garage in suspension of frozen time. Space is getting bended during it's acceleration towards the speed of light. A ladder at first to big is deconstructing to persuade it's goal to fit the GH (Garage Hermétique).

Ladder Contraction is a thought experiment in special relativity. It involves a ladder traveling horizontally and undergoing a length contraction, the result of which being that it can fit into a much smaller garage. On the other hand, from the point of view of an observer moving with the ladder, it is the garage that is moving and the garage will be contracted to an even smaller size, therefore being unable to contain the ladder at all. This apparent paradox results from the assumption of absolute simultaneity. In relativity, simultaneity is relative to each observer and thus the ladder can fit into the garage in both instances.

Here, I'm using a Voronoi diagram to examine the spacing between players for the New York Red Bulls. Each player is represented by a dot, which is the center of a region of space on the field. The boundaries of each region show which player is closest to any particular space on the field.

 

In this case, New York is attacking to the right.

Dancing on an interactive exhibit in the Exploratorium. The Exhibit "Personal Space/Boundary Functions" by Scott Snibbe draws polygon lines around anyone and any object on the white surface, outlining personal space. The pattern created by the lines is called a Voronoi diagram.
