If our souls were the windows of civilisation, what would they reveal? In VOID, choreographer Boi Sakti confronts the moral decay and hypocrisy engulfing society and calls into question the very meaning of ‘civilisation’. The soul is wounded. Conscience has fallen into a black hole. Principle and reason have given way to greed and falsities.There is a tragic loss of humanity despite claims of greater openness in a civilised world. This affecting and insightful work examines these distortions and seeks to contextualise them. The world premiere is performed by T.H.E Dance Company led by artistic director Kuik Swee Boon, and features award-winning sound designer Darren Ng. At once powerful and poetic, VOID throws the windows wide open and compels you to face what is really there.

Forum Groningen is a new multifunctional building in the center of Groningen in the Netherlands, a cultural ‘department store’ filled with books and images, that offers exhibition spaces, movie halls, assembly rooms, restaurants. The Forum aspires to become a platform for interaction and debate, a ‘living room’ for the city. Forum Groningen is a new type of public space where the traditional borders between these institutes will dissolve. Information will be presented thematically in a way that transcends the different media. The building is designed as single clear volume to express the desire for synergy, to strengthen the shared ambition to combine different facilities into one new compound. A series of careful cuts nails the building on its site and generates a multitude of different appearances.
Forum Groningen features an exceptional central space, an innovative atrium that with its horizontal ‘tentacles’ forms the pumping heart of the venue. The void works as a spatial interface that binds all functions, movie theatre, book collection, expo, auditorium, and as such hopes to catalyze the exchange of knowledge and ideas. A series of stacked ‘squares’ emerges that can be experienced as the continuation of the network of open spaces in the city of Groningen. The vertical squares are publicly accessible and provide entry to the ticketable activities. The specific layout offers continuously changing perspectives on the surrounding city and culminates in the roof terrace, a viewing platform and outdoor theater. Forum Groningen has been engineered “to accommodate finding not searching”. The design stimulates exploration. It hopes to catalyze the desire to wander, to ‘browse’ endlessly through a staggering interior landscape.

The Void Pointers are Roald van Dillewijn, Tijs Ham and Eric Magnée. Modifying instruments for improvised acousmatic music is the band’s forte, and an incredibly diverse one; from modifying guitars and flutes, to setting up a six piece ensemble for string and electronics. During their performances, The Void Pointers focus on building timbral walls of sound, that can sound enervating and challenging. They performed at the Gaudeamus Muziekweek and the (h)ear festival amongst others.

The basketball hoop made me audibly gasp. How that remained standing while the houses around it were completely destroyed is truly a freak of nature.
See the corner of a house with part of the window frame in the foreground?
The chat pile in the background was human made.
A tornado in May of 2008 destroyed much of Picher, Oklahoma. Nature completed what man started.

Als je nog 'nieuwe' beelden ziet verschijnen hier, is het sowieso materiaal van voor 18.11.12. Toen werd me, op terugweg van een fijn (foto-)dagje Mons op de trein van Brussel-Zuid naar Mechelen mijn fototas met alles wat daar in zat (dus ook mijn camera) ontvreemd...
Helaas.
Als je dus foto's ziet gedateerd later dan 18.11.12, heb ik wellicht een nieuwe camera... Eerst nog wat sparen.
Hello everyone, I have recived many more requests and lots of positive feed back on my WITCH art. Thus I decided after two years sitting on my lazy butt I might as well do a Will meets Kermoros Fan Comic thus that is what this is.
Will has been SUCKED into the "Reality Void" which is inbetween our universe, hers, Marvel, DC, Star Wars, ect...
Each of those litte balls are is a reality, and its universe.
