This place would have been spookier had it not been for the amount of people there. The train track runs a 3km tour of the mine, but we chose to walk anyway.

There are a forest that are just about hidden in the fog, but i like the illusion of the enormous space.

If you feel like commenting I'd like to say that the whole thing with the void series are the emptyness, so I know that it's empty but that is intentional. Now that you understand that please comment I'd love to hear what you think.

A red sign denotes the end of operational trackage on Lake State Railway's Blue Water Subdivision. This is part of a line that was laid out in 1859 as part of the Chicago, Detroit and Canada Grand Trunk Junction Railroad, the American extension of the Grand Trunk Railway. Once upon a time this line would've hosted both passenger and freight trains and several industries would set up shop along the ROW. Overtime those customers faded away (notably Domtar Paper and Dunn Paper) or stopped using the railroad. In 2018, Lake State Railway began leasing the line from CN. CDW Consulting is the only customer that remains, a transloading operation that sees tank cars, boxcars, and centerbeams. Further up the line in the overgrowth there's a piece of rail cut out to prevent runaway cars from straying onto the railroad crossings. The crossing at Pine Grove Ave. has been paved over and the one at 10th Ave. will rattle your car to bits. Certainly this line has seen better days and I still remember seeing GTW GP38-2s and GP9Rs working the line up to Lake Huron. It's a shame because the lakefront trackage was real scenic and in some timeline, would've made a good picnic train destination.

Getting to know her has been an interesting journey... it’s like facing my shadows... while there is so much light and life in her.

The Val d’Orcia, or Valdorcia, is a region of Tuscany, central Italy, which extends from the hills south of Siena to Monte Amiata. It is characterised by gentle, carefully-cultivated hills occasionally broken by gullies and by picturesque towns and villages such as Pienza (rebuilt as an “ideal town” in the 15th century under the patronage of Pope Pius II), Radicofani (home to the notorious brigand-hero Ghino di Tacco) and Montalcino (the Brunello di Montalcino is counted among the most prestigious of Italian wines). It is a landscape which has become familiar through its depiction in works of art from the Renaissance painting to the modern photograph.

In 2004 the Val d’Orcia was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites under these criteria:

* Criterion (iv): The Val d’Orcia is an exceptional reflection of the way the landscape was re-written in Renaissance times to reflect the ideals of good governance and to create an aesthetically pleasing pictures.

* Criterion (vi): The landscape of the Val d’Orcia was celebrated by painters from the Scuola Senese, which flourished during the Renaissance. Images of the Val d’Orcia, and particularly depictions of landscapes where people are depicted as living in harmony with nature, have come to be seen as icons of the Renaissance and have profoundly influenced the development of landscape thinking.

My GETTY Images

We spent the morning playing the remember game. Remember the 4th of July weekend at the Hyatt? Great pool, we had the place to ourselves. Remember when Kath wouldn't go near the windows on the observation deck? Didn't know she hated heights. Dinner at Windows, coffee on the plaza, class parent on field trips. Wonder what happened to so and so, saw them every day hope they got out. The flash with no bang, the silence on the street that funny smell that lasted for weeks. It was nice to go there, probably won't go back.

Third image from our visit to the abandoned South Fremantle Power Station.

Thank you so much for your visit.

Atomic Bricks is now having items made for Lego figures. All items shown on my page here are prototype renders and are subject to change from the finalized product in the future.

Introducing the New Void Rifle model. This shot is just a 3D render of the weapon and the Lego model itself will be arriving in the next few days and photos will be taken of them.
