Vlog of this one here...
Sunday at Portknockie, on Scotland's Moray Firth, was a slightly more flat day. There wasn't much wind and the sky was largely uninteresting. This made finding a good shot tricky. Fortunately as the tide reached its highest point, some good waves kicked up and gave me an opportunity to revisit a composition from a while ago and see if I could put a different spin on it.

Vlog of this one here youtu.be/a2Q37_gnzCw I love this location. The sea stacks and rocky coastline of Tarlair, near Macduff in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, offer up a number of cool compositions. I need to go back here at low tide to see if I can get much closer to the stacks in the background. I feel that it is possible and could certainly lend itself to quite a dramatic image of these awesome rock formations. Some more time exploring this area is certainly on the cards and I cannot wait!

Yesterday was a really productive day. After a 30 minute jog first thing, I decided to drive to Spey Bay, in Morayshire, Scotland, to do a vlog and get a couple of images. When I set out, there was a thick sea fog over the entire area but by the time I made it to this location, it had more or less completely burned off. This put somewhat of a damper on my thoughts of a moody, very long exposure so I had to work with what I had. Which, to be fair, wasn't a bad thing as the light shining off the pebbles on the beach made for a stunning scene.

For those of you who don't know already, I started vlogging regularly a few months back. If you want to see how I photographed this image, as well as others, follow the link above over to YouTube to watch my latest vlog.
Taken this evening at Dell Quay Marina near Chichester. I took 25 pictures over an hour and a half standing in cold water just to get this one good one. So don't worry when the pro on his vlog tells you he always does it in one. Maybe he does maybe he doesn't. Most of us don't.

I used an ND 4 grad filter as the sky was so bright with the sun starting to dip down to the right.
I also used an ND10 to get the effect on the water but also to try and get as much colour in the frame as I could as the sun was starting to go behind a massive bank of cloud just out shot.
