Sunbathers catching some Vitamin D at Junkanoo Beach Nassau Paradise Island Bahamas

....dressed with organic fresh mint and spring garlic both from my garden, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and freshly ground pepper. Sealed in baking paper and baked for approx 20 minutes in a moderate oven. Served with salad. The fish had been caught just a couple of hours previously so it was very fresh, tasty and healthy.

If life gives you Cocos.....!Tomele Fotos!

It's unusual that I ever get a break at work, so when I do I like to escape the confines of the pool. I figured I would go outside and work on my tan for 20 minutes. Sans shoulder tan lines, of course.

When I went in for my yearly physical last week, the doctor ran some routine bloodtests to check my cholesterol, white cell counts, and iron levels. He said if anything came up weird he would call me; otherwise, I should assume that everything is fine.

Well, he called me. And everything is fine except for my vitamin D level. The normal blood level should be somewhere between 35 and 100. Mine is 8.

The doctor prescribed megadoses of vitamin D for me; I'm to take one of these once a week for the next six months. After that, I'll take a smaller daily dose.

There have been several articles written lately about how vitamin D deficiencies might be more prevalent than we think, especially now that people are so good about using sunscreen to protect their skin from the dangers of sun exposure. Sunscreen blocks harmful rays and protects us against skin cancer. It also blocks absorption of vitamin D.

It will be interesting to see in the months to come if I can tell any difference from my vitamin D therapy ... along with bone and skin problems, Vitamin D deficiency has also possibly been linked to depression, SAD, and fibromyalgia. Hmmm.

Dad drove a '71 Plymouth Duster, purchased when it was only a couple of years old, from Chinonis Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge on Clio Rd. While it probably just had a 225 Slant Six (with three on the tree, no less), I still consider it the coolest car my parents ever owned.

...we all live in a Prozac nation. - Elizabeth Wurtzel

Mmmmmmmmm vitamin D another excuse to suckon someone's finger.

Last night we had a visit from our dear friend Louise . We played Christmas carols, had all the magickal fairy lights on and drank some lovely wine and ate nibbles.

Then we got talking about the New Year and what little jobs we all need to get around to. I said how theres no room in the kitchen cupboards for tins and jars and she couldnt understand it.

So.....I took her into the kitchen and showed her exxactly what is in our kitchen cupoards (situated between the kitchen sink, workplace and the cooker)

i dont know why...but dear Louise looked more than a little shocked and she stood there completely speechless.

I dont think any of you will be surprised dears and...there is food in there...well...its an apple.

You havent seen the other cupboard yet...thats the medicine and nail varnish remover and hair colour section.....you dont want to even go there!!!!!!!!!! Trust me , you dont!

And if thats not bad enough I have a jewelry department also in the kitchen which consists of one of those plastic four tiered compartment things that has stickers on the front of each compartment: Necklaces, Pendants, Earrings, Bracelets.

The kitchenthings are somewhere on a wall or onthe floor hidden from view.

Well...........if I didnt do this it wouldnt be me and hopefully its rather funny and nice for people to remember me this way!

Christmas is nearly here so tomorrow our final photo to you all will go on to wish you all a Happy Christmas time.

A recipe from VegNews Issue #59.

Kale, banana, soymilk, and spirulina powder.

It was okay. I think there was too much spirulina powder....it had a funny aftertaste.

Another Tuesday but this week its warm and the sun is out....unlike 48 hours ago when we had 6" of snow to make the season total about 130" (340cm). Lisa will do anything to soak up a bit of Vitamin D.

Who else who least know who is going to the beach charity, even if it is only for the pleasure of hanging routine that drowns us every day. This psychological factor is one of the main virtues of the sun and the beach, to which you attach to these benefits going to the beach to health.

We firstly produces the benefits of the sun and on the other benefits of seawater, which together are combined to one infuse stability in the body, so it is a source benefit to health. The sun brings us joy and promotes the synthesis of vitamin D, while the sea water, which is loaded with minerals and trace elements, is a stimulant to our muscles.

"Dear Journal,

Feeling listless again today. It began at dawn, when I tried to make a smoothie out of beef bones, breaking my juicer. And then at Cheerios practice, disaster...

It was unmistakable. It was like spotting the first spark on the Hindenburg. A quiver! That quiver will lose us Nationals. And without a championship, I'll lose my endorsements. And without those endorsements, I won't be able to buy my hovercraft.

Glee Club. Every time I try to destroy that clutch of scab-eating mouth breathers, it only comes back stronger like some sexually ambiguous horror movie villain. Here I am, about to turn 30, and I've sacrificed everything, only to be Shanghaied by the bi-curious machinations of a cabal of doughy misshapen teens.

Am I missing something, Journal? Is it me? Of course it's not me. It's Will Schuester. What is it about him, Journal? Is it the arrogant smirk? Is it the store-bought home perm? You know, Journal, I noticed something yesterday...

Of course, it's coming clear to me now. If I can't destroy the club, I'll have to destroy the man!!!"

an interesting conversation re music-related (mis)adventures on the way home, left me itching for the old days. so when i got home and saw the sunset, well, you know the rest...

Getting some vitamin d from the sun while taking a walk.
