Posters created on the fly a while ago for a facilitation. Sometimes, one big, bold word is all that's needed to create visual impact. Read more about this technique in this blog post: onesquigglyline.com/onesquigglylineblog/2014/5/29/e90h4e2...
How a community supports its meetings (and their underlying patterns, artefacts, etc.) Includes scheduling, planning, the actual meeting and production of artefacts. This was the first orientation map I did and it captures my intent. The others feel like rather empty copies. :-)
Here's my visual notes to help me guide my actions today. The big one (in my mind if not on the notes), plan an outline for a Visual Thinking Bootcamp I want to run in Philly sometime soon.
The "May 27" part of the notes refer to the upcoming VizThink Philly 2 meeting.
One of my biggest challenges as a graphic recorder was to understand and visualize this conference on black holes given by scientists.
The day ended with a fascinating session on how #dataviz helps us to better “see” black holes. Big thanks to Barthélémy von Haller and Jeremi Niedziela from CERN and Oliver James from DNEG (with me on the photo). They guided us through this wonderful journey from the smallest elements of quantum physics to the black holes and their representation in the Interstellar movie. Magnificent presentation that shows that synergies between science and art can increase our knowledge about the unknown.
Live scribing of the sessions of the "EU interinstitutional workshop on data visualisation" #eudataviz, on 13 November 2019 in Luxembourg.

This pattern/path is about a CoP that is inside an organization and must use ONLY existing org tools. They want to get creative to figure out how to maximize and adapt those tools. This is the creative, geeky internal "use what you have" option. They love techie stuff, like to play and experiment. Technology may be part of their domain.

Curiosity is one key trait of creative people and creative thinking. To increase your own creativity, be curious and ask lots of questions.
