This picture visualizes well how the beginning of learning connectivism feels for the learner. The traditional learning skills focus on affecting / curing / caring for the visible part - whether we call it a problem, need, opportunity, chance, dilemma... When learning the traditional way - nothing changes, nothing happens after the official learning part ends. Connectivism is special because the start-up phase grubs the soil, even digs in the ground deep enough in order to begin to make the rootstock visible. Because the rootstock has been unvisible - learned without reflection, never unlearned - the start-up phase boosts feelings of learning like: Disorienting dilemma, cognitive overload, complete chaos... What is good and even unique in this process is that it really boosts conscious unlearnng; revealing great fresh new soil for - LEARNING!!! This is how and why connectivism is the means of learning for this and the next decades.

The original Finnish text of the picture says: "Well, that one will be easy to tear up..." - visualizes corruption; forming an illustration of the star-uo phase connective learning process as well.)

A sunny afternoon rendering, it could be called "classic series". But,having seen so many sunny renderings, normal and common, more or less you would find a bit of boring and dull, right?

Actually, except for the bright and sunny days, it says ultraviolet radiation from the sun can reach you on cloudy days. So why not considering a change? Nowadays with the competition in the architectural visualization industry being so steep, such a "classic" 3d rendering may not be enough to make you stand out from the crowd. It’s time for another series of inspirational architectural renderings to boost your desires and make a difference.

Many have tried several different approaches to distinguish themselves, one of them being a rainy, "wet look". This tends to bring a more dramatic feel to an architectural illustration and in many cases may be a good solution even for commercial works.

Let’s enjoy some Frontop “Wet Look” Architectural Renderings:

The splash screen of the free NASA Space Weather Media Viewer for Android.

Ideum, in partnership with Goddard Space Flight Center, was awarded a grant to extend the tremendously popular web-based Space Weather Media Viewer to the mobile platform.

A free, full-featured iOS native application is available for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. You can get the free application on the iTunes Apps Store. The free Android version is available in Google Android Market Place and the Amazon App Store.

The Space Weather Media Viewer features near-real-time imagery from a wide variety of NASA missions, NASA-created visualizations, and video interviews with prominent scientists about the causes of space phenomena. Exploration of solar imagery is intuitive and vivid due to the rich multitouch interaction enabled by the iPhone environment. With the production and availability of this content for mobile platforms, we extend the audience for the Space Weather Media Viewer and make this valuable tool more accessible in classroom environments.

Lola came up with a last min idea yesterday for a biker girl type shoot. usually when people suggest shoots that are not my own i have a hard time visualizing how they would work out. this one was no different. I wasn't feeling up for the shoot on sunday so we post pone it til monday night. With the days being alot shorter this time of year there isn't much time to do any portraits with any available daylight. Since lola works til 5 i knew i would be shooting in complete darkness. I wanted a seedy type of location for this shoot to give it more of a darker look. I was apprehensive about going to some alley with my flashes blasting into the cold night air and drawing some unwanted attention. Lucky near lola's there was a warehouse that had an area i could work with. After speaking to the manager i convinced him to let me shoot for a bit, he gave me a 10 min window but i knew without his supervision i could get away with shooting a bit longer. Anytime i do a shoot there always seems to be something that goes horribly wrong. Normally i will find a way around the situation and this night would be no different. There was no moon out tonight and the area was covered in complete darkness. My nikkor 50mm 1.8 hunts for focus extremely bad with low available light to the point i thought there was no way this shoot was going to happen. Nothing worse then having someone pose for you while your trying to focus. The only solution i could think of was to focus completely manually. While normally this wouldn't be a problem i could not even see lola though the view finder to properly focus. I set my aperture to 7 in hope i would get into the ballpark. Without seeing lola clearly i just tried to make a out of focus blob turn into a more focused blob. The result was very hit and miss. What could of been great shots turned into slightly blurry shots. I had a feeling i would have to throw away a large amount of shots so i took more then the average amount. Even though i constantly run into these issues i feel like they challenge me as a photographer.

Accident and Visualization..................those are the words I finally settled on. I often find myself caught in a torn world. One where straight forward photography (if there is such a thing LOL) and digital manipulation collide. I have read the contraversy many a time and have been intimidated into thinking that manipulated images are not "true" photography............I am over it and now love to see what I can do with an image. I have done some things on accident ...........and will probably never be able to recreate them again. And others I know exactly what I have done and love to try it on other images. For me this was a great excercise on reflection, and self discovery.

I found that I have grown since taking my first image, I have photographed many subjects with varying techniques..............

I hope to continue to be brave to try the new things that pop up in my brain, but I also don't want to lose the "true" side of this art form called photography :)
