Duncan Rawlinson's "Chromatic Blooms" is a striking piece that explores the latent space between traditional photography and advanced artificial intelligence imaging techniques. This vivid display of cherry blossoms, captured through the fusion of contemporary photography and AI techniques, creates a surreal blend of chromatic aberration and bokeh effects. The work highlights the seamless integration of natural beauty with digital innovation, showcasing the potential of AI to blend the real and the surreal, transforming visual art in unique and captivating ways.

Confronting the Canadian genocide: the anniversary of the Mount Polley tailings toxic spill in the Cariboo region, the largest in British Columbia history: Unceded xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) territories, Monday, August 1, 2016.
"Secwepemc peoples are calling on all to come and stand with us in resistance against mining and the provincial government's decision to re-issue a full permit for Mount Polley. Indigenous Peoples are at the forefront of the impacts and consequences of climate change. The root of climate change in Canada is the continuing genocide of Indigenous Peoples, that is, the continuation of destructive and dangerous resource extractive projects approved by the Provincial and Federal governments that have no legal jurisdiction to do so. We find ourselves in a state of urgency and crisis. The continuing violations of the rights and responsibilities of Indigenous Peoples by industries not appropriately regulated, regularly causing environmental damage and destruction, and most importantly, that do not have consent by Indigenous Peoples will not be tolerated!”
The event included presentations on resistance to Imperial Metals Mount Polley mine and broader mining justice struggles. The presenters included:
Cecilia Point (Musqueam), Kanahus Manuel (Secwepemc Women's Warrior Society), Grand Chief Stewart Phillip (Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs), Sacheen and Crow (Ancestral Pride), Sam Nock (Cree-Metis poet), Ricardo Segovia (hydrogeologist), Harjap Grewal (Council of Canadians) and Rita Wong (updates on Site C and Unist'ot'en Camp).
Objetivos do Projeto:
