This was on the Praia de Âncora tourist office wall; and alongside was "Viagens à Terra Nova" - which translates to Travel to Newfoundland.

 

From Mr Google - The Portuguese pioneered the European exploration of the Atlantic Ocean. Some historians believe that Portuguese mariners reached Newfoundland before Cabot. Rather oddly (to my mind) it is often stated that they discovered on the way to India.

 

I think the mural dates from 2015, with help from an article written at the time and Google translate the 2015 Viagens à Terra Nova event in Vila Praia de Âncora, which aimed to honour the 700 cod fishermen in the municipality.

 

Bacalhau (cod) is one of the national dishes of Portugal, some claim there are 1001 ways to prepare, others that there is a version for every day of the year.
