I thought this newborn (4 hours old) monarch butterfly was ready to be released, but it didn't want to fly away, so I placed it on this blackeyed susan flower in my garden---to which it's not naturally attracted. I still have milkweed in my garden that the caterpillars haven't consumed, but it's temporarily at a stage without any flowers, so I hope this butterfly found acceptable flowers after it flew away.

Painting for an art show in downtown Phoenix for October. It's all going to be monster themed for the month. Sumi ink and marker.

I'm watching you little squirrel! The bird feeder is right above him in the tree. He's acting like nothings going on, but I know better....lol

I really think that I am getting my money's worth out of this Dollar Tree bird feeder! Would you agree?

Oh, and by the way, the bird food is at room temperature today! lol.

Thank you for your fav's, views, & comments!

I've always favored narrative images, pictures that tell a story. These kind of compositions are mroe complex and offer more opportunities to lay out context clues for the careful viewer to examine and draw conclusions.

Things are happening!

Chance encounter a few weeks ago, with no umbrella nor sewing machine in sight ....

Great to see Mr Barras down our way again. We had planned to look at a few locations down on the prom near Bournemouth Beach but it was a warm dry night and there were large groups of young humans that were being observed by a couple of police officers and three security officers. It didn't look like our kind of scene, so we mooched back to the cars to formulate a back up plan. Knowlton Church was a good location for a mess about with lights and as I had my flash gun and Mart's help a double silhouette was in order. Great to catch-up with Mart, had been too long.

This place has been shot seemingly almost as much as half dome. All the more reason to shoot it with a now defunct $60 plastic camera....maybe I should have tried a roll of expired film? Still a great and easy place to visit in Iceland. It's even better and windier, if you climb to the top and hike way back along the river.

This neighborhood has been invaded several times in recent weeks by flocks of 'Little Corellas', which descend in large numbers to feast on the fruit of street plane trees. It is easy to spot where they have eaten by the mass of leftover clippings and chaff covering the street.

Anyone like to count the number of corellas in the near tree - please feel free to do so!

So delighted to find a little flock of cedar waxwings in our backyard!

Day 279 (v 8.0) - we've been here before

Left photo: Elizabeth: "Hey Kyle, look who it is: Daddy Booley. Haven't you missed him?" [Kyle seems vaguely interested in giving his father a hug.] Should we ask when you, Bonnie and Katie can go home?"

Booley: "Kyle, tell Aunt Elizabeth she's doing a great job taking care of you all, as we knew she would. We have to finish settling our dues with mean ol' Mr. Bankruptcy before we can see what we have left for living conditions. I mean, we have a tractor, a trailer and this coffee shop left so far."

Right Photo: Elizabeth swoops Kyle back into her arms. "Well, Kyle, looks like you're living with Aunt Elizabeth for a little longer. Let's go home and tell your sisters."

La visitation selon Saint Luc ?

On lit bien la surprise et l’étonnement sur son visage…

Par contre je ne voyais pas la vierge avec cette tête là !

A Haredi, or Ultra-Orthodox Jew visiting his relatives' graves at Jerusalem's Mount of Olives Jewish Cementary. With burial started from about 3000 years ago, this is the oldest and most important Jewish cementary in Jerusalem. Here lies the ashes of many important figures in Jewish history, including Israel's sixth prime minister, Menachem Begin.

P/s: I'm a foreigner working in Israel. I love this country and will upload more pictures of it. Please correct me if anything is wrong.

I love the play of light and shadow on the altar of Philadelphia's Visitation Church.

Strange things happen in the dark of night.....but a being of light is nothing to fear. The dark ones now......that's another story.
