The camera: BALDUR-1 (1933/34) German box camera.
The story: an old German camera used by the Hitlerjugend.
In January 1945, the German army made a last and desperate attempt to recover Budapest from Székesfehérvár (Konrad-3 operation.) The 3d company of the 3d SS armoured battalion lost also very young soldiers among their military losses in Martonvásár (exactely halfway between Székesfehérvár and Budapest). This camera had been laying in an attic in Martonvásár since 1945 until a friend of mine (József Pammer) found it.

More Playing with a cannon 50mm 1.8 manual lens & a 70D. I feel like I'm getting better images with this combination.
I'm still hoping to do a motion piece with this combo before the end of the summer. I have some footage (from Dufferen Islands) but not enough to put together a proper motion piece/video.

Omigod! I have Barbie Wicked Witch Of The West - the best version (although I missed out on getting a vintge re-release on Xmas Eve as I thought I might be getting it for Xmas and the next day they were all gone!), but wow, I never knew there was a Wicked Witch Of The East doll!!! I just love her outfit etc, and she has the ruby red shoes in the back ground!!! I should have gotten her for cheap from Ebay Australia as someone had her on there for like half of what it would cost to import her from the USA, but she was suspicious about the damage to the box, so I didn't get it and someone has now bought it. I will have to get this doll even though she is a bit bitchy looking lol!
I actually HATE the Wizard Of Oz, but I LOVE Witches!

The base ball game between Old Dominion (at bat above) and Elkton (MD) was in recognition of the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War.
The game, which Elkton won 9-2, was played using rules in use circa 1864:
90 feet to the bases, the pitcher throwing a hard ball underhand with no wind up and no closer than 45 feet from home plate, no gloves for the fielders, and with both teams honoring one another at game's end.
In addition, the batter was a "striker", the pitcher "a thrower", and baseball was spelled "base ball".
Before the Civil War (1861-1865), base ball was mostly known - and played - in the North. Confederate soldiers, watching their Union counterparts playing baseball in Southern prison camps, were thus introduced to a new sport. When Union and Confederate soldiers returned home, factory workers and rural farmers alike knew how the game was played.

A vintge buffet
A buffet is a meal system where patrons generally serve themselves.
It is a popular method for feeding a large number of people with minimal staff. Sideboards are also known as buffets as they may be used to offer the dishes
of a buffet meal to guests.

An late 1800's view with barefoot children in this cabinet photograph. The rear of the photograph says that the building on the bottom left was the old Townhead School. That might explain all the chalk scribbling on the wall.
