Taken from in the water.

Day 2 of our paddling course - this time I was mostly in a Canadian Canoe, but also on a paddle board and kayak, and actually in the habour! The photos are from a really crappy disposable underwater film camera

Grand Guesthouse Gardakot near Vik. Eva, our host, goes the extra mile even by Icelandic standards. Freshly baked breakfast every morning in a beautiful house.

Iceland - August 2011

I was completely finished here. My father took the extra 200 meters to get down the beach.

Vik, Iceland

The village of Vík is the southernmost village in Iceland, located on the main ring road around the island, around 180 km (110 mi) by road southeast of Reykjavík.

Despite its small size (291 inhabitants as of January 2011) it is the largest settlement for some 70 km (43 mi) around and is an important staging post, thus it is indicated on road signs from a long distance away. It is an important service center for the inhabitants and visitors to the coastal strip between Skógar and the west edge of the Mýrdalssandur glacial outwash plain.
