Vik
Custom commission to a private collector.
100% hand painted with spray paint, acrylics and matte varnish.
The church of Vik, taken from the parking lot at the local gas station. I was lucky enough to see some very dark clouds come rolling in but the church was actually still lit by the last rays of sun - the clouds soon caught up.
Vik, l’endroit le plus pluvieux d’Islande, réputé pour sa plage de sable noir et sa superbe église.

Taken on our frogeye underwater camera, to see what black and white film looks like in it. The sky was all blue and cloudy, but it looks superbly ominous in this.

If you have a film camera, join the group, shoot a film, and offer it up to someone, somewhere in the world.
The village VÃk in the south of Iceland is indicated on road signs from a long distance (about 180 km from ReykjavÃk), despite its small size (about 300 inhabitants).
It is an important service center for the inhabitants and tourists around the Mýrdalsjökull glacier.
A remarkable feature is the beautiful black beach with the Reynisdrangar, black lava columns sculpted by the sea. A folk tale says that they are former trolls which were caught outside at dawn. The sea around them is rather wild and stormy, so travelers will not be surprised to discover a monument to the memory of drowned seamen at the beach. The American journal Islands Magazine counted this beach as one of the ten most beautiful beaches on Earth in 1991.
