A dramatic sunrise on the wild south coast of Iceland near VIK.

The Sea Stacks at Vik on the southern coast of Iceland I captured this image shorty after sunrise on my way back from a very early start at Reynisfjara Beach watching the after glow of the Northern lights . Its a magical coastline 👌

The church at Vík í Mýrdal, Iceland’s most southerly village, captured as the sun was hovering just above the horizon to the west/left. For various reasons it was difficult getting a decent perspective of the church and I ended up cropping quite a lot of the original image and sacrificing resolution. Nevertheless, I was pleased with the vibrant colours and light contrasts. Thanks for viewing.

Technically this picture is same as yesterday. But.....I wanted to pose a question!

Yesterday I shared a photo from my instagram and it was taken with my phone. Just a random snapshot. Today's picture is taken with SLR camera, using tripod, experimenting with composition and different exposure times to get the movement of the waves. However, when I post these pictures here on Facebook, is there even any difference between the two? Does it matter for online (especially Facebook) presentation, which camera was used?

Vik and its signature sea stacks are a highlight along Iceland's south coast. During this beautiful sunset, I captured the crashing waves on the black sand beach with golden clouds to fill the scene.

Golden light in Vik, Iceland

I love Icelands Churches, a lot are very remote and the locations are very atmospheric. Vik church is very popular with tourists more so in summer when the lupins are in full flower.

A classic view of Vik during good circumstances, a beautifully situated town along the stunning southcoast of Iceland.

It wasn't that easy to get this shot beacause of the ferocious winds on this slope....:)
