My favorite winter constellation, Orion, rising above my hometown. The moon had just risen , creating a beautiful contrast in the luminosity of the sky.

Sunrise over Little Sarasota Bay from a small beach below the Stickney Point Bridge.
Being on the west coast of Florida was a challenge to find compelling sunrise locations. This small beach on the bay side is one that I passed several times a day traveling over the Stickney Point Bridge and thought it could provide for a more intimate scene. There wasn't much cloud cover for interest in the sky, but the warm glow of the sun reflecting off the water created the mood I was going for. I underexposed a bit to emphasize that mood and take attention away from the distant shoreline.

Adjust your monitor's brightness to max for best viewing.
Light constitutes the base of seeing everything in detail. The best moment to capture the sunset is when the night "collides" with the day. When the sky is partially dark and bright, mixing colours and feelings.
The shot consists of 4 landscape frames in order to capture the detail of the beach and the sky as well.

Sunset on Siesta Beach in Siesta Key, Florida.
Siesta Beach is known as one of the most beautiful beaches anywhere in the world. Unlike beaches elsewhere that are made up mostly of pulverized coral, Siesta Beach's sand is 99% quartz, most of which coming from the Appalachian Mountains. Even on the hottest days, the sand is so reflective that it feels cool underfoot.

I just got him today! Like I needed ANOTHER white persian...:) I DID! :) We are thinking of a name for him still. He is 3 1/2 months old. He is just a sweetheart. He has found himself a PURRfect place to live. Happy home with lots of brothers and sisters.:) Welcome Home Kitty!

One of the most adorable species that can be photographed. Its bluish tones blend in among the backlighting of pine branches, but their nervousness and unmistakable singing give them away.
