The campground is located in a nice stand of trees just behind this view. The old road has not been in use for many years but makes an excellent trail. There are many trails to take in any direction from this spot. Tombstone Lakes, Rae Lake and more if you are really adventurous.
View across the beach from Mount Maunganui.
Mount Maunganui, is a major residential, commercial and industrial suburb of Tauranga.
Sorry I am a little slow returning comments this weekend. I promise to catch up with everyone soon. Today was so busy and it's not over yet. I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the weekend. (^ o ^)/
In the Adelaide Hills near the Lanes winery, this to me sums up the beautiful landscape of South Australia...
Back to our Baker Beach visit last Saturday; I continued to struggle to compose an image without a naked man marring my view. Even on the distant rocks, I kept encountering the unwanted sight of bare buns on the Baker Beach Boys... the fellow below seemed to be searching for something on the rocks - perhaps his trousers? or maybe he was just trying to figure out how to do a bit a rock climbing with no "protective gear" on...
dont' worry, it's safe to view large - the buns have been carefully omitted from this view:
Valley Gardens, Windsor Great Park
The Punch-Bowl Azelea and Rhododendron walks, at their peak late April & early May.
If you are not familiar with viewing stereo cross-view images, gently cross your eyes and the third image which appears centrally is the stereo view. See the link in my profile - www.flickr.com/people/barrie_r/?rb=1

My remake of the 6890 Cosmic Cruiser set from 1982.
The Cosmic cruiser, although not the fastest starship in the federation, is a useful exploration and transportation vehicle. Its capable of low-altitude travel, and can deploy the pilot's seat as an X-5 Land speeder. As the Cosmic Cruiser is not primarily built for combat, it's equipped with only two front-tipped forward facing torpedo launchers. (I still haven't decided if the gadgets on the wing tips are weapons or antennas...) Hope you like it!

Blackingstone rock has steps to allow access to the top. Some consider the steps are unsightly, but there is a superb 360° view from the top. This photo is looking west.
Presque Island lighthouse is open on weekends during the summer for visitors to take the stairs, 78, to the top & enjoy the view of Lake Erie.
If ever visiting the Farao Islands...this is a ";Must See" location. Just getting there is an adventure. By car it is via a tunnel. By foot it is via the old "postman route" over the mountains.... which isn't that old at all, as only In 2004 a tunnel was blasted through the rock, and made it possible to drive through by car.
