I know it's only a small city, but it's still there!

I really like this vantage point for framing our little city though - highlights to me how rural and green Darwin is as a capital city. The trees still dominate our region, which is what I love about living here!

Looking East as the river Mersey folds around and provided water for the coal fired power station. Opened in 1971, the station originally had a generating capacity of 1,989 megawatts (MW), which lowered to 1,510 MW in 2019. In June 2019 it was announced that the power station will close by March 2020.

This will be our view soon

On the top of the Greenan mountain, not far from the border of Northern Ireland, lies Grianan of Aileach, one of the finest stone forts in Ireland. From the hill-top there are commanding views over Lough Foyle, Lough Swilly, and Londonderry, about 8km (5 mi) to the East.

The massive stone wall is 3.9m (13ft) thick and encloses an area 23.4m (77ft) in diameter. In the walls are small chambers; a series of stairs at regular intervals inside the walls gave access to the wall-walk. The entrance is very long and lintelled.

Legend says it was built by the ancient gods; the ring fort was known as the Sun Palace and was held sacred. Traces of ancient earthworks, dating to the early Iron Age, surround the fort, enclosing an area of about 5 acres (0.02 km2). The fort itself was probably built in the early centuries of the Christian era. From the 5th to the 12th century AD it served as the royal seat of the O Neill sept of Aileach; it was destroyed by Murtogh O Brien, king of Munster in 1101. To make the demolition complete, the king ordered each of his soldiers to take away a stone from the fort. Grianan of Aileach was reconstructed by Dr Bernard of Derry in 1870, but archaeologists are doubtful about the inner restoration.

Surrounding the stone fort are three concentric low walls which formed part of the original fortification of the fort.

This is the full view of the abandoned church. Just an amazing place. Breathtaking really.

Cromarty garden view I thought how contradictory Lupins in full flower and there is still snow on the mountain tops. This is an evening shot, it doesn't really go dark in Scotland.

There were wild Asters growing all around this foraging spider. I angled myself so their lavender color filled the background.

Enjoy this creepy crawler (if you can)!

Firá (modern Greek: Φηρά) is the modern capital of the Greek Aegean island, Santorini. A traditional settlement, "Firá" derives its name from an alternative pronunciation of "Thíra", the ancient name of the island itself.

Fira is a city of white-washed houses built on the edge of the 400 metres (1,312 feet) high caldera on the western edge of the semi-circular island of Thera. The two main museums of interest are the Archaeological Museum of Thera, 30 metres (98 feet) east of the cable car entrance, and the Museum of Prehistoric Thera at the southeast corner of the White Orthodox Cathedral of Ypapanti, built on the site of an earlier church destroyed in the 1956 earthquake.

Access to Fira is mainly by roads on its eastern side, climbing from its port via the Z-shaped footpath on foot or on donkeys, or by riding the steep cable car from its lower terminal by the port. The central square of Fira is called Plateia Theotokopoulou, with a bus and taxi station, banks and pharmacies.

From Fira there is a panoramic view of the 18 kilometres (11 miles) long caldera from southern Cape Akrotiri to northern Cape Ag. Nikolaos, plus the volcanic island Nea Kameni at the center with Thirassia Island in the Aegean. Large cruise ships anchor in the small harbor between Nea Kameni and Fira.

We spent a week on Santorini during the beginning of May enjoying its picturesque magic quite heavily. One may be surprised that its towns are rather crowded even before the peak tourist season, but it is still a special place for enjoying slow pace of Greek islands life.

All the time packed and crowded, the main settlement of Firá is perched on a top of a cliff in a magnificent way, and its white washed houses and narrow cobbled streets form a really wonderful sight.

What I see in the viewfinder is some hot weather ahead. Even at the beach. It's forecasted to be over 100 °F/38 °C in the inland areas and in the 90's F/32 °C at the beaches for this weekend.

Fall...where are you...? Maybe we can enjoy the ride anyway!

"All along the watchtower

Princes kept the view

While all the women came and went

Barefoot servants too,

Outside, in the distance

A wildcat did growl

Two riders were approaching

The wind began to howl"

Ladies View overlooks the Lakes of Killarney, Derrycunnihny Oak Woods, the Eagles Nest, Torc Mountain either side of the lakes. To the left the Gap of Dunloe, Purple Mountain and the Macgillycuddy Reeks. Queen Victoria's ladies-in-waiting visited here during the royal visit in 1861. They were so enraptured with the view that it was named after them.

A cool perspective from the moss-covered water flumes curving through the fall foliage. Choosing a different view point makes all the difference in the world.

A better view of what I wore to work last Saturday.

Probably not the choice considering I was doing my real job inspecting accident damaged vehicles for insurance companies.

It was a good experience it has to be said, Imagine if you can being one of my customers a guy in his late forties with a ford ford with front end damage, You walk into the building up to the bodyshop desk and find me! You introduce yourself and i respond by confirming who you are the model and reg of the car you own followed by OK i will be right with you.

You look not really believing what has just happened.

I had that look twice, Not so much the my being trans but more it was me who was going to inspect the damage.

It got even better at the vehicle with me bending over the engine bay, kneeling down to look at the damage and explaining how we were going to repair the damage or advising that the vehicle was a total loss.

Each customer was very good and after the initial reaction they settled and accepted the situation. The reaction would have been same had i been a genetic woman.

So my first customer facing work experience went brilliantly.

However storm clouds are gathering on the horizon. Don't worry nothing bad as such.
