In the early 19th century it was called The Greyhound-bitch kennel and was used as an animal shelter. There is a tradition that the field in which the stones stand is cursed, and that nothing will grow there. The stones themselves were believed to grant any wish whispered to them on Hallowe'en. Another legend says that the wedge-shaped capstone spins three times each Midsummer's Eve; this story fits with one of the chambered tomb's Welsh names (Maes-y-Felin), which translates as 'The Mill in the Meadow'. The same night all the stones are said to go bathing in the river.

I would have taken these up to a few years ago. I no longer own a VCR, though I have hundreds of tapes.

Why is the S-3 Viking called a Hoover? Listen to the strange engine sounds as this Viking lands at NAS North Island in San Diego and compare to a Hoover vacuum cleaner. Video from 1998.

I think I only uploaded a video once. Well, now that I have the 70D I sometimes play around with the video mode, and I am very happy with the video quality. So I went outside to make a short video of Paula. I was careful not to speak ; )

And Paula? She enjoys her favourite treats.

Side Note: I'm not much of a "videographer", but I guess the ground is a little overexposed. But I had to do that, so you can see Paula's coat clearly

This video is made from 1382 full-resolution (3000x2000) photos made this evening.

The Nikon D40 can shoot 2.5 shots per second and some 1500 photos fit in a 4 Gb memory card, so it's easy to stuff your hard disk. Taking all the frames and compressing them at full resolution using h.264 at 32678 Mbit/s is the best way to store them.

In this particular case, the 1382 photos occupied 2.7 Gb, whereas the compressed video is a mere 84 Mb. The image quality of each individual frame is very good.

Well we know where we're goin'

But we don't know where we've been

And we know what were knowin'

But we can't say what we've seen

And were not little children

And we know what we want

And the future is certain

Give us time to work it out.

CJRP_PBA Tennis Center_Totally Tennis Camp 2023. Video by Marilyn STONE, Montgomery Parks, MNCPPC.

[Redacted], rockin' about halfway through a song.

Note: The subject of this video and I had a huge falling out, and she requested I take down all of my photographs of her. I'm unwilling to do that, but I am removing her name so they no longer show up in google searches for her.

The turtle is swimming along, almost like he is flying just above the bottom. Eventually he comes to the surface to get a breath of air.

Been playing with some scripted elements to get a retro-techno feel!
