These are the latest version of the paper and polymer clay beads that I am working on. I added a thin colored strip of clay to hold in the paper and clay canes better and add some dimension to the piece.
Can't decide which one I like better. Inspired by The Other Side of Mt. Heart Attack by Liars. Lyrics here.

This is a view of some of the building backs taken from a parking lot off King William Street in downtown Hamilton, Ontario. The title comes from the sign above and to the left of the door. Interestingly, I became aware that another flickr member, Glenn Pfab, had also photographed the same location. Seems we have been stumbling about in the same parts of Hamilton, looking for local colour (or monochrome in this case) For his take on this location have a look at:

Taken using a hand-held Nikon D5000 fitted with a Nikkor 18-105mm VR lense set to 24mm, ISO400, Aperture priority mode, f/5.6, 1/50 sec. PP in GIMP: convert to black and white using Ilford Delta 100 film simulation, adjust contrast slightly until this harder-looking result was obtained, sharpen, add border and scale to 1024 wide for posting.

Design by Eric Gjerde. Third version, folded 2015-01-03. Hexagon from A3 sketch paper, 64 units. Possible dry-run for large elephant-hide version; but I think I will try four off-centre units rather than one plus six partials.
