While the student pilot gets settled in the front seat, the instructor does a final walkaround inspection before getting settled in the aft pit. Always good to double check things while you can.
The 4 different sizes of the lampshade (as I cropped it) were a little tricky to prove, until my DD’s SO held up this 3by3 inch mini canvas.
It’s wonderful to have a tall person in our household!

Ultima Sports Ltd. is a sports car manufacturer based in Hinckley, England. The car was available both in kit form and as a "turnkey" (i.e. assembled by the factory) vehicle. The design is mid engined, rear wheel drive layout, with a tubular steel space frame chassis and fibreglass bodywork.
A model equipped with a 640 bhp (649 PS; 477 kW) American Speed engine, called the Ultima GTR640, and subsequently, a 720 bhp (730 PS; 537 kW) at 6700 rpm and a maximum torque of 855 N⋅m (631 lb⋅ft; 87 kg⋅m) at 4400 rpm Chevy V8 engine called the GTR 720, established the following official, independently verified records for a production car equipped with road tyres and exhaust:
Fastest 0–60 mph (97 km/h) time: 2.6 seconds
Fastest 0–100 mph (160 km/h) time: 5.3 seconds
Fastest 30 mph (48 km/h)–70 mph (110 km/h) time: 1.8 seconds
Fastest 100 mph (160 km/h) to 0 mph braking: 3.6 seconds
Fastest 0 – 100 mph (160 km/h) – 0 mph time: 9.4 seconds
Fastest road car over the 1/4 mile: 9.9 seconds @ 143 mph (230 km/h)
Due to its kerb weight of 980 kg (2,161 lb), the power-to-weight ratio for the GTR720 is 745 bhp (755 PS; 556 kW) per tonne, which is a better ratio than the Bugatti Veyron, Enzo Ferrari, Ascari A10, Koenigsegg CCX. (Wikipedia)

Stranger #90 – Cam
It was a sunny afternoon, I had been walking for a while, alternating between main streets exposed to the sun and shadowy side streets. Cam was sitting on the ground in the rue froide so called for the fact that it remains cool even on days such as this one. Cam’s back was against the wall of l’église saint Sauveur. We started talking. Cam asked me what kind of pictures I took. I explained the 100 strangers project. I had to check my notebook when Cam asked me how many strangers I had photographed. “89,” I said. “Want to be the 90th?” “Sure” I sat with Cam and we talked for a while.
“I’m a fundraiser for the Red Cross. I love photography. A while back, I purchased a film camera I like the fact that there’s something final about film. The camera wasn’t working, that was a punch in the face. I spend a lot of money on disposable cameras. I’ve got 3 rolls of film that will be developed on Thursday. I’m from Tours, I’m studying political sciences at Paris 8 Vincennes Saint Denis, I live in Paris. What drew me to political sciences is science and politics. Just kidding. I like the multi-disciplinary approach to politics and it being Paris 8 it feels like studying the far left, studying all these subjects is like being slapped in the face sometimes but so interesting. Do you know Paris 8?”
“I know it by name. Paris 8 Vincennes, well formerly Vincennes.”
“Formerly Vincennes, now Paris 8 Saint Denis. There was a documentary made about Paris 8. I can’t remember the name, I haven’t seen it.” (Vincennes l’université perdue de Viriginie Linhart)
“How did you become a fundraiser?”
“I was in Paris and someone stopped me in the street and asked me if I wanted a job. I said yes, I do because I’m poor. That’s how I got to work for ONG conseil, I did a mission for médecins du monde as a fundraiser. That mission was stopped because of the lockdown. Later I was in Tours, someone stopped me in the street and asked me if I wanted a job. I said I know which job you’re offering, I said yes again because I was still poor. I didn’t think I would go to the end of that mission but it went really well in Tours so I kept going for the mission in Caen.”
“Do you still have faith in humanity?”
“At this precise moment yes, I sort of do. You’re part of the reason why. Because you stopped to talk with me. I’m a bit of a sponge. In the street, when you’re fine everything goes well. When you’re in a bad place you just get kicked around. When I’m radiant I meet great people and have nice moments with them. Today is more difficult. I love that in this job, being outside talking with people. I’ve been to Ireland. Once, I wanted to go back there but I couldn’t be bothered to pay 20 euros for a plane ticket. I decided to boat hitch hike. I was with someone, we couldn’t get a car to pick us up to get out of Paris. We only found one at about 6pm. Our plan was to get to Brest and then boat hitch hike from Brest to Ireland. In the end, we could only get to Rennes by nightfall. We had no money and no place to sleep. We asked people if we could sleep in their home. We happened on people who couldn’t accommodate us but said they knew people who might be able to. Indeed they could but they didn’t have anything for breakfast so I said what about if we bring jam and we found people who got us a jar of jam so we were able to stay. Once there was a big wooden boat and I asked the people on that boat if they could teach me knots so I’d at least have that going for me when I asked to boat hitch hike, I asked if I could sleep on that boat and I ended up going to Ireland on that boat the next day. I like that, when you have no place to sleep, nothing to eat, you have to find a solution and that gets you moving. On TV and in mainstream media, we’re being sold a version of the world that’s hyper competitive, a dog eat dog version of the world, as a result people mimic that and tend to become like that. We aren’t like that. I was relaxing after a shit day at work at the trocadéro, I saw a girl with a huge backpack like a hiking backpack. She looked like she was having a hard time, she was on the phone with a few people. I went to talk to her, she needed a place to stay, I told her she could stay at my place, she stayed four nights.”
Cam checked what time it was, work was waiting. There wasn’t much time to take a picture. I wish I’d thought of moving to the left to have only the wall as a background so as not to have the blown highlights of the sky but I’m glad and grateful I spent a while talking with Cam, not only was it very interesting and enjoyable but it was also heart-warming. Cam blew on the embers of my faith in humanity.
Thank you very much Cam!

“Oui, anciennement Vincennes, Paris 8 Saint Denis maintenant.
“T’as encore foi en l’humanité?”
On a trouvé qu’à 18h00. J’aime ça, quand t’as nulle part où dormir, quand t’as rien à manger t’es obligé de te bouger.
Merci beaucoup Cam!

Well, after so much discussion I got lots of links verifying Larigan (as usual) :)
Wow..I didn't know some were rumored to live to be hundreds of years old!
Rook (Corvus frugilegus - Rook)
Approximate size: 50 cm (about 20 inches)
Wingspan: 1 - 1.2 meters (about 40 - 45 inches)
Coloring: Black, with greyish beige beak and face
Call:
Eggs: 3 - 5 Eggs. Greyish green, with brown markings.
Range: Northern Europe
The rook is one of the larger corvids, and they can grow to be about 2/3 the size of a raven. Their feathers hang quite loosely on their underside and come a good ways down the legs, giving them a "baggy" appearance. They have a long beak and the feathers on their face are lighter colored than most corvids. All together, this makes them look like the pot-bellied, balding old uncle of the corvid family.
Rooks live together in large colonies which may be made up of thousasnd os individuals. They nest communally, and their roosts are called 'Rookeries'. Some rookeries are known to be centuries old.

We always love discovering a family-own pizza place with a unique story behind its name and Magic David Pizza 🍕certainly has a good one. When we photographed this Dyker Heights, Brooklyn pizzeria in 2011 for our book “Store Front II- A History Preserved” we interviewed the owner Rosa Fiore who shared with us the secret behind its name. Her husband opened the 🇮🇹 restaurant with her in 1987 and they called it “Magic David Pizza” because “my husband was a professional magician and David was the name of our nephew and it’s easy to pronounce and remember”. Sadly Rosa told us that their landlord had recently raised their rent and they would not be able to stay much longer although she did not want to close as the restaurant is “like my second home”. She also told us that she did not want to raise prices although the cost of their raw materials including tomatoes 🍅 and flour had more than doubled.
•
We dedicate this post to Rosa and her husband as we truly appreciate the beauty and importance of small mom-and-pop shops like this one. In the comments, please let us know what other family owned pizzerias we should highlight in our feed.

Verification that my square photo was indeed square. I do my best to shoot down along a centerline.
I suspect the very fine and cautious group managers are being misled by the shadows and bubbles within the cup.
I love to shoot liquids and solid objects inside round ramekins, glasses, and cups. I really should try to remember to not submit any of them to Square and Squaring Circle groups. At my age, I may forget.

Crystals have been verified by science to be a form of matter that is able to hold, store and transmit information. Quartz is used extensively for this. Water, when it freezes, crystallizes into hexagonal patterns, like snowflakes. Who's to say that here, in this image, we might not be looking at an enormous store of information and, perhaps, stories? What kind of information would frozen water crystals hold and how much?
Japanese scientist, Masaru Emoto, did some groundbreaking research into consciousness and water structure formation. He demonstrated, in repeated experiments, that water responds to and forms itself according to consciousness. An angry or negative state of mind, directed at containers of water actually altered the crystalline structure of the water, creating uneven, malformed and distorted crystals! And, similarly, a benevolent and positive state of mind, directed at the same containers 'healed' the malformed crystals until they became beautifully symmetrical and perfectly balanced!
Since 70% or more of our bodies is made up of water, then what do our daily states of mind do to our internal structures and organs? And what if we decided, definitively, to heal ourselves of whatever ails us? If we direct benevolent thoughts also outside of ourselves, to people, animals, plants and even, to water, what would happen?
In the image above there are countless crystals, all suspended in front of a grid matrix. What would this constellation be saying? To us, to each other. If there IS information there, what is it? I think it would be astounding to find out.
