Corregidor is an island in the entrance of the Philippines' Manila Bay. It was a thriving American community before the war. Its residents enjoyed creature comforts such as movies, automobiles, baseball games, an electric train system, and a swimming pool. Due to its position in the bay, it has served as a focal point for the naval defenses of the capital city of Manila. During World War II, Corregidor was the site of several battles and its fall to the Japanese forces was instrumental in the subsequent capture of the Philippines and the retreat of the United States in the early stages of the war. Currently, it is an important historic and tourist site and is managed under the jurisdiction of Cavite City.

(Behind-the-scene: I went to the historic island of Corregidor with friends for a model shoot. We picked the ruins of the Topside Barracks for our location. While on a break I ventured about and saw this lone red hibiscus (locally known as "Gumamela"). Immediately, the red color reminded me of how sacred this place is, how many lives were sacrificed during WWII, where thousand of soldiers - Filipinos, Americans, and Japanese fought an utterly bloody battle in this forsaken rock-barren arena of war. All that is left of the island now are ruins, empty shells of once formidable structures and weapons of destruction bearing defiance to anyone who threatened freedom of Philippine soil. There is something that feels different in this island. Something deep that yearns to be understood and meditated upon. You have to visit it to get a drift of my ramblings.)

"I am starting a summer business. Get this: 'Violet's Plushie Daycare'. Think about it. You and your family leave your house for the day with all your valuables at dog's reach. You come home and the dog has torn into all of your favorite plushies. Can you blame him? And what about all your plushies? How do you think they feel being left alone? You know neglected plushies have been known to attack their owners in their sleep. So worry no more. 'Violet's Plushie Daycare' service will keep your plushies safe from attack and happy while keeping you safe from attack. I don't have a phone number yet, but for more information look for my posters in a neighborhood near you or really, one near me. "

After a very bad case of man flu only a man would understand this frame seemed fitting feeling the want to venture out and take a deep breath without coughing my guts up!
It was now time to venture outside into the sunlight always a dodgy experience for a soul that identifies as a vampire but loves the sun.
As luck would have it. turns out I will always be human no matter what because that's just how it is.
Right let's gloss over that like I do my stained lips.
So the Fort was garrisoned at the weekend by three units of British Tommy's and some female troops. The standard of kit was exceptional and it really was like stepping back in time.

Venture LK641 in the entrance channel to Macduff, just about to make the left turn into the harbour. Built in 1991 at the James N. Miller & Sons yard at St. Monans, Fife. Likely one of the last built there as the yard closed a year later.
This model represents the Errant Venture in its later days after it was fully refitted and painted red.
Originally named the Virulence, this ship was captured during the Bacta War by the smuggler Booster Terrik and he begun painting it red and modifying it. At some point the New Republic borrowed it for a covert operation and in return they completely refitted it and painted it red for him. After this Booster started operating more closely to the law and focused more on being a mobile casino and luxury resort.
I choose to put the ads on the ship on large holo-screens as it looks a little less tacky then the earlier painted ads.

Johnny Thunder and the company are looking for the another adventure. Where they are swimming? I hope I'll show you next year.
The ship is loosely inspired by S.S. Venture form Peter Jackson's King Kong. It's about 75 studs long. And it doesn't float. :-)
Hello Not Founders,
It’s time to take a trip down memory lane as I reflect on the early beginnings of Not Found. When I first embarked on this venture, I didn’t even know what name to introduce my products with, and thus, Not Found was born.
Even though it all started as an experiment (and the name as a joke lol), it has become a staple in your inventories. I cannot be more thankful for the support you have given my brand since 2017.
It began with me trying to make a little extra as an SL photographer. I learned so much that I decided to try my hand at creating skins. I wasn’t alone in this endeavor and have many to thank: Marco from Clef de Peau for allowing me to use his male tones, Uma from The Skinnery for allowing me to use her female tones, and Dave from Volkstone for his body skin template, which I used to create my first male body skin.
On March 27th, I announced that the male body was receiving a much-needed update. I wanted to offer something on par with the Hera body line, our new female body skin, and thus, Zeus was born. This project has taken months and many sleepless nights. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was this new body.
Today, I am happy to announce that the wait is finally over. Zeus is now available to NEW and CURRENT customers, offering the quality you have grown to love. The most realistic and versatile body skin is here to enhance your inventory.
The best news? If you own the 2.0 Male Body skin, the upgrade is COMPLETELY free. Simply visit our main store and perform a re-delivery. This is my way of thanking you for helping Not Found achieve the success I never imagined possible from this tiny experiment seven years ago.
Now for the fun part, we have teamed up with an amazing group to make this release even more successful. Please help me thank the following creators who have each crafted something stunning to help us introduce Zeus:
Stray Dog
The Skinnery
Tableau Vivant
Avi Glam
.minou minou.
Volkstone
You can find their creations at our main store as well as at each of their locations:

Love,
Not Found

A shot of the business end of a stern trawler. I was intrigued by the big stone block on a rope. Presumably it's there to add some weight to the rope but then you wouldn't want it coming loose and hitting the new steelwork.

Arrived recently at Macduff Shipyards for final outfitting is the 34.5 metre trawler Venture IV. The hull was built and painted by Finomar Shipyards in Szczecin, Poland before being towed to Macduff.
It is hard to hold back a strong tinge of sadness for me here. Up to the age of 14, I was privileged to spend almost all of my school holidays with extended family and friends at Laurieton, where I developed a sort of infatuation wit the port's trawlers. That's what I want to do when I grow up, which of course never happened (no, not the growing up part, although that is debatable...). I would wake in the morning and from my bedroom window, I'd be able to see them putting out to sea, with the comforting thrum of their diesels competing with the early kookaburras and magpies. Id ride my bike to the co-op when they came back in, and the smells of them unloading their catch, and the excitement of the whole process, is still vivid with me.
Around the corner from my grandmother's house, which was next to the river and mangrove swaps, lived Sonny (Alfred) Poole, who captained the Soncerea, which I was lucky enough to go on and steer.
The Soncerea's larger sister vessel was the Pacific Venture, captained by one of Sonny's brothers. The Pacific Venture was the largest trawler in the port., and the Poole family also had a third trawler, the Florence.
Others trawlers that I can remember (and I still have my extremely detailed drawings of them, that I would colour in at the kitchen table), were Kismet, MaryAnne, Duel, Dauntless (which apparently had been used in WW2), Trimmer, Jo Ellen, Jacquelyn, Connie Maria, Laurieton, Sea Queen, Robin Anne, Heather D, Blue Seas, and Diamond V.
There's probably a couple of other pics of Pacific Venture in my images scattered here on Flickr.
Over time, one by one, the fleet disappeared from the port, and for many years the Pacific Venture remained the only one left, as a dilapidating and idle link to my boyhood past - a symbolic reference point to periods of my life when I'm not sure I've ever reached such inner contentedness, aided by a whole adventure world of the Camden Haven River, since,...sort of in a Huck Finn nature.
Anyway, shortly after I'd taken this pic, and upon returning back to Sydney from a quick break, I discovered she was up for sale. I'm sure she's now sold and left Laurieton, and given her deteriorating condition, I haven't got a lot of confidence that she would still be floating and intact.
The times, and a whole lot else, have a-changed. I have utterly no logical reason to feel so forlorn about this image, so jotting down these few words somehow helps.
