I love the looks and the idea of a meal consisting of only fresh roasted vegetables, chickpeas, rice.... but then I always feel like I need to add some roast chicken. #notquiteavegetarian
Left tier: Yellow bell pepper, soy-braised mushrooms, green onion, carrot ribbons, edamame, baby carrot, aburaage, hard-boiled quail egg on a bed of udon noodles.
Right tier: Concentrated Udon broth, sugar snap peas, cherry tomatoes, Clementine orange.
In 2010 Pembrokeshire County Council received funding to purchase a pair of 7.8m Optare Solos - YJ60 LRL & LRN - which could run on both vegetable oil and diesel. These were operated by Silcox of Pembroke Dock on the contracted town services in Haverfordwest in a white and green livery and marketed as "The Little Green Bus".
When Silcox ceased trading in June 2016, both of the Solos passed to Edwards Brothers of Tiers Cross for continuation of the contracts. YJ60 LRL subsequently moved on to Brown of Builth Wells, and then in June 2023, she was purchased by Bridgend-based Peyton Travel, who presumably run her only on diesel.
Peyton's only local bus operation is Service 861 (Nottage,-Porthcawl-Trecco Bay-Newton-Happy Valley Caravan Park), which operates just between 0900 and 1320, and this is the Solo's home. Unfortunately, she is used in an all-white livery and devoid of fleetnames, as illustrated in this November 2025 shot taken on The Portway as she heads for Nottage.

Katholische Stadtkirche Sigmaringen Württemberg - Hohenzollern

Die Stadtpfarrkirche St. Johann Evangelist steht der Stelle der 1247 erstmals erwähnten Burgkapelle. Hier errichteten im Jahr 1580 die seit einigen Jahrzehnten regierenden Sigmaringer Hohenzollern einen Neubau, da ihnen die alte Kirche, die auch ihre Grablege war, nicht mehr repräsentativ genug war. Auf der Nordseite des Kirchturms zeugt eine Inschrift davon.
Ab 1756 erbaute man am selben Ort erneut eine größere Kirche. Man wollte den kurz zuvor heilig gesprochenen Kapuzinerpater und Märtyrer Fidelis von Sigmaringen angemessen verehren. Lediglich die Nordwand des Kirchenschiffs und der Turm der spätgotischen Kapelle blieben stehen. Den Rest schuf Maurermeister Johann Martin Ilg als Neubau. Zugleich erhöhte er den Turm und krönte ihn mit dem charakteristischen Zwiebeldach.

Der Landkreis Sigmaringen ist relativ dünn besiedelt. Die Einwohnerdichte liegt bei 106 Personen pro Quadratkilometer. Insgesamt wohnen 127.716 Menschen auf einer Fläche von 120.436 Hektar. Der Grund für die geringe Besiedelung liegt in den natürlichen Gegebenheiten: ausgedehnte landwirtschaftlich genutzte Flächen sowie große zusammenhängende Waldgebiete.

Der Landkreis Sigmaringen ist stark land- und forstwirtschaftlich orientiert. Es gibt 47.000 Hektar Waldflächen (38 Prozent der Gesamtfläche) und 55.000 Hektar landwirtschaftliche Nutzfläche, davon 2/3 Acker und 1/3 Grünlandflächen. Etwa die Hälfte der 1.583 landwirtschaftlichen Betriebe hat eine Betriebsfläche von 20 Hektar und mehr. Hauptnutzungsarten der landwirtschaftlich genutzten Fläche sind Ackerland (63,4 Prozent) und Dauergrünland (36,4 Prozent).

Die wichtigsten Industriezweige sind Maschinenbau, Metallerzeugung und -verarbeitung, Holzbe- und -verarbeitung, Chemie und Kunststoffe, Elektrotechnik, Leder, Textil und Bekleidung. Industrielle/gewerbliche Schwerpunkte liegen in Bad Saulgau, Pfullendorf, Mengen, Meßkirch, Gammertingen, Sigmaringen, Sigmaringendorf, Ostrach, Krauchenwies, Hettingen, Neufra und Veringenstadt.

Im Landkreis Sigmaringen gibt es rund 65.100 Erwerbstätige. 53,6 Prozent der Arbeitnehmer sind im Dienstleistungsbereich tätig, 45,2 Prozent im produzierenden Gewerbe und 0,9 Prozent in der Land- und Forstwirtschaft. Derzeit befinden sich 149 Industriebetriebe mit insgesamt 14.840 Beschäftigten im Kreis.

Funny thing that I noticed with the veggie couples. When you pair them up husband and wife, all the wives are giving all the husbands shit! I accidentally realized this when I was trying to position them to be looking at each other to take these pics, and sure enough… Little guy at the left seems to be getting the worst of it.
