Based on specific client requirements, yantrambpo.com has the expertise to utilize a wide array of proprietary as well as standard 2D CAD software applications, including: AutoCAD, ADT, Revit, MicroStation, VectorWorks, TurboCAD, etc.
One of the standard refrains of Windows Fanboys, besides the shout of "Games," is the idea that Apple is just not a great platform for engineers or architects. They say this not knowing of course that OS X has several CAD programs including ArchiCAD, BRL-CAD (used by the U.S. military), ViaCAD, TurboCAD, PowerCADD, Sketchup and Vectorworks, which is a standard in Europe.
The standard here in the U.S. is the Windows based CAD program known as AutoCAD.
Opinions on the advantages of Vectorworks versus AutoCAD vary, but there seems to be a consensus with architects that Vectorworks has a more fluid workflow than AutoCAD. While AutoCAD relies on building drawings one line at a time by entering text commands, Vectorworks relies more heavily on icons. Vectorworks also allows work in 2D and 3D using the same interface and same tools.
Vectorworks also provides a "SmartCursor" that snaps onto virtually any significant geometric feature, streamling the process of generating a design from basic geometric shapes.
It is true that AutoCAD created the standard DWG and DXF file formats, but just like Final Cut Pro and Avid, Vectorworks competes with AutoCAD on price.
A full version of AutoCAD will cost you over $4000, while Vectorworks, even a version that comes bundled with Renderworks, will cost you no more than $2,600, depending on the version.
Here's how the prices work out for major versions.
Vectorworks Architect: $1,819 (with Renderworks: $2,179)
Vectorworks Landmark: $1,639 (with Renderworks : $1,999)
Vectorworks Spotlight: $1,639 (with Renderworks: $1,999)
Vectorworks Machine Design: $1,639 (with RenderWorks: $1,999)
*Vectorworks Designer 2010: $2,269 (with RenderWorks: $2,555)
(*Designer includes Architect, Landmark, Spotlight, Machine Design)
AutoCAD: $3,995.00.
AutoCAD Architecture: $4,995.00
AutoCAD Civil: $4,995.00
AutoCAD Mechanical: $4,495.00
The biggest advantage obviously, is that Vectorworks offers a version called Designer, which bundles all four versions of Vectorworks into one big package. And while you might have to buy something like 3D Studio Max Design ($3,495) to get extra functionality for 3D rendering in AutoCAD, Vectorworks can be bundled with its 3D engine, Renderworks, for less than $500.
There is also something to be said by the fact that, unlike AutoCAD, Vectorworks is not limited to one platform. It works on both Windows and OS X.

Okay, so the tech media and the neck beards that make up the Fake Outrage Brigade (Anti-Apple bloggers) having been reporting a fair bit of hysteria involving stuff that's broken with Snow Leopard. The first target was CS3, which like CS2 actually works with the installation of Rosetta. Apple actually provides a list of incompatible software here:
Of course, this hasn't stopped PC World from releasing their own list of software that have been reported to have problems with Snow Leopard. Here it is below:
Backup Bouncer, Books, Boxee, Butler, Camino, CheckPoint SecureClient, ClamXav, Cocktail, ConceptDraw Pro, DataBackup, Dave, Disc Inventory X, DiskWarrior 4.1, Electricsheep, Fallout II, Flip4Mac 2.3.0.7, Forklift, Fruit Menu, Google Gears, iStat Menus, iStumbler, Leopard Cache Cleaner, Leopard Cache Cleaner, Macromedia FreeHand MX 11.0.2, MailFX Pro, MenuMeters, Mirage, NodeToad, OneSwarm, PGP Desktop, Plex, Protector Suite, QuicKeys 4.0.3, RealVNC, Reader Notifier, Apple Server Admin 10.5.3, SmartScroll, Sonos 3.0, Sticky Windows, TinkerTool, TivoDesktop, Undercover, Vectorworks, WindowShadeX, WireTap Studio, and X-Lite.
The first thing that struck me about this list is the fact that most of these apps are actually tweak tools for Leopard, so of course they're going to have problems with Snow Leopard. Snow Leopard has been completely rewritten. Apps like Flip4Mac actually work fine, it's just that Flip4Mac was actually coded for Quicktime Player 7, so Snow Leopard will automatically search for Quicktime 7 in the Applications folder when you play a WMV video file. The problem with this is that the people at Apple moved Quicktime 7 to the Utilities folder. Unless you navigate Snow Leopard to Quicktime 7, it won't open the file (solution: just use VLC)
So PCWorld is actually being truthful by saying that Flip4Mac is having problems, but not for the reasons you might think.
And the inclusion of Macromedia FreeHand, an app that hasn't been supported by any OS for years, is just ludicrous. Macromedia doesn't even exist as a company anymore. It got bought out by Adobe in 2005. Me thinks that PC World is padding the list. Hey, but if you can't trust a site called "PC World" for Mac news, who can you trust?
But just to help out, let me reiterate. I've had problems with the EyeTV and Crossover Games. The latest version of EyeTV, 3.1.2, has been coded to work with Snow Leopard, but you can't get that version without actually updating it directly in EyeTV 3.0, which won't even open in Snow Leopard and the company that makes EyeTV, Elgato, doesn't provide a download for 3.1.2 (obviously because of piracy concerns) on their web site.
Frankly, the problem with EyeTV isn't Apple's fault. In fact, most of the incompatibility problems aren't Apple's fault. Developers have had versions of Snow Leopard close to two years running. Of course, that hasn't stopped the Fake Outrage Brigade at places like CNET from complaining about omissions in iSync. It looks like Palm OS devices have been locked out of Snow Leopard. No, they're not referring to the Pre, Palm's pre-eminent iPhone killer, they're talking about the old Palm OS, the one that Palm is slowly phasing out.
I mean, Jesus Christ, people, give me a break!
The bottom line is this. If you have a mission critical work flow that depends on tweaky apps like Sticky Windows, then maybe you should wait until those apps are Snow Leopard certified. I'm you're a casual home user, who uses Apple branded software like iLife and nothing else, then it might be safe for you to proceed. Make sure you install Rosetta if you have anything left over from the PPC generation.
If you're a Windows 7 beta user, Snow Leopard has a treat for you and that's Boot Camp 3.0. Not only does Boot Camp 3 allow you to read your Mac drives from Windows now, it also has official support on Windows 7 for all your Mac hardware.

I've often wondered why otherwise reasonable people cling so furiously to Windows after repeated abuse at the hands of viruses, BSODs, multiple activations and crap like Windows Genuine Advantage. I've even heard tell of people who continue to buy Xboxes after losing as many as 5 consoles to the Red Ring of Death! Wow! And they say Apple Fanboys are sheep.
Is Microsoft really that attractive or is there something more nefarious at work? A few days ago, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released to record sales. Now just to give you some background and explain the picture above, the developers of Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward, generated a fair amount of controversy when it was announced that there would be no dedicated server for the game.
Now I have no earthly idea why they decided not to do this, even today. The no dedicated server thing for Modern Warfare 2 will go down in history as one of the greatest unexplained mysteries of mankind, along with New Coke, Jimmy Hoffa and Greedo shooting first. Be that as it may, many PC gamers were pissed and circulated a petition on the internet. Throngs of gamers who had played Modern Warfare 1 promised not to buy the new game unless their demand for dedicated servers were met by the guys at Infinity Ward.
As you may have already noticed in Steam pic above, a good percentage of the gamers in the boycott group are currently playing Modern Warfare 2. 19 players out of the 36 players listed in fact. And I'm pretty sure if I were to browse the remaining 800 players in the boycott group, I would likely find about the same percentage.
When I saw this pic yesterday, it occurred to me why so many people have a problem with leaving Windows. I've lost count of the number of times I've had a Mac conversation with a PC Fanboy, only to have the "Games" rational thrown in my face. Games are the first and last excuse people use for staying with Windows. There is virtually nothing left in the PC space that Apple doesn't do better. Apple has a better browser, better music software, better video software… and if it doesn't have software that's better (AutoCAD for example), it usually has something equivalent, like Vectorworks. From Adobe Creative Suite to Microsoft Office, it's all there, everything except for Games.
For all my indignation, I must admit, even I still boot camp Windows. Why? So that I can play freaking Team Fortress 2.
So what is it about video games that takes a perfectly reasonable person with strong convictions and turns him into something resembling a battered wife? Are video games really that great? And more importantly, what would happen if Apple actually started to promote gaming on the Mac, like they do with the iPod Touch?

25'x25'
The mission of this project is to design a two-story house on a 25' x 25' floor plan with less than 100 square feet extension.
The idea of this complex is to provide a connection between the exterior and interior on a small floor plan by applying interesting architectural elements to the building.
The lower level of the house is the public zone with a living room, bathroom, kitchen, dining room and access to the garden. The upper level of the house has a bedroom, balcony, and a hallway to observe the lower level of the house.
One of the main feature of this house is the stair case. It is built to gradually merge out from the exterior wall. It illustrate a perception of openness. From the inside, it creates an illusion of walking outward from the house structurally. At the end of the stair case to the upper level, one can observe the exterior view through the two glass wall connected by the angle of the building. Its an idea of walking outward and back to the inside of the house.
Another feature of this house is the triangular floor plan bedroom. One of the angle in the bedroom is a 40 degree. Two four feet width glass walls are built on both side of the angle to create a wider opening for a panoramic view to the outside. A reading area is also built in the bedroom, which contains a custom desk place underneath a window that open to the second floor balcony. This provides a connection between the private exterior space to the bedroom interior.
The kitchen has a semi circle counter top to create a better flow between the living room, dining room and the garden. In the dining room, a twelve feet long bi-fold door provides access to the garden. It also is an extension space for the dining area to the garden area.
At last, in the exterior, the overlapping fence is to create a playful feeling rather than a intense straight wall that fencing away the public and private space.
