Not much forward progress. Amity Street series J.215 based on pen and ink drawings from the last century. Digital vector.
A rectangle is drawn first and coloured a mid brown. Wood textures can be generated by applying transparent fractal fills onto the brown rectangle. Here I have used one of my old fills. A bitmap copy is made. The bird, cloud waves and olive branch are all drawn freehand in Xara Designer Pro. They are then filled with the bitmap copy of the wood texture. With the bevel tool the bird, cloud and waves are made to stand proud. The same technique was used to create the various parts of the outer frame. From scratch the whole exercise took just under 30 minutes. It would take me a little longer in Adobe Photoshop although Photoshop is more powerful for photoediting. Xara is often my first choice to create an image from scratch.
Either I'm spelling 'balloon' wrong or it's one of those words that start to look really, really funny when you type it a lot.
I suppose I could check, but, meh.
Anyway.
Sometimes I really want to do something different.
Generally, I fail miserably.
Whatever, I like it. Mostly.
