Part of a new long project I am working on for a band. Very early prototype, has a few bugs.
Finally my dude Crimson Cisa has someone to hang out with. For some time now he needed a new friend and a love interest. As you can see he is more than happy to meet Ms. Cisanda. I’m sure they will make a great couple.
I tried to designed Ms. Cisanda in a bit more refined style, because well you know, women are more sophisticated creatures. I’m still a little bit on the fence about the name, but I think I’ll just stick to Cisanda. Mostly for two reasons; first of all, it sounds as an African name and that’s just what I was looking for, and second, in old Greek SANDA means ‘defender of men’. I guess that’s just my way of saying that behind every strong man there’s a strong woman, but without actually using that cliché.
Anyway, let me know what you guys think.
P.S. And I’m still working on a sticker design for her, but my time is kind of limited right now because (and this sucks so hard) of all the work that I have to put in to my thesis.
Converted to Vector art in Illustrator, using Live Trace, to give it a painted by numbers sort of look.
Something not-so-simple coming soon if I can find the inspiration.

The Mummy is a 1932 horror film starring Boris Karloff, Zita Johann, David Manners, Edward Van Sloan and Arthur Byron.
The film is about an ancient Egyptian mummy named Imhotep who is discovered by a team of archeologist and inadvertently brought back to life through a magic scroll. Disguised as a modern Egyptian, the mummy searches for his lost love, whom he believes has been reincarnated into a modern girl.
True black and white graphic created from scratch and recolored. Added to create something with a period feel, with my original art.
