This picture was taken on a cold and dreary day in winter.....the type of day when winter has been dragging on too long and the question is asked everywhere, 'when will it finally be spring?'
Photography in that kind of weather just isn't that much fun so I decided to go to my favourite florist and see what she had in stock so I could do something indoors. The wonderful fragrance of the accumulated varieties of flowers had me the moment I walked through the door and it was these tulips that got my attention. I loved the varigated petals and the colour had a warm appeal on a cold day.
One of the best things about tulips is the way their long stems behave. Sometimes they stay straight but often they curve and take on some character which I think makes them floral story-tellers. :-)

This is something relatively new. I'm planning on getting one for the front yard in the near future. If you do get one give it a lot of room, they really spread.

I found these growing amongst the hosta plants in my backyard. These only lasted a couple days and they were dried from the sun.

It might not seem that dragonflies would fancy the desert, but there is an amazing diversity of species.

20 inch pillow cover. Right now, I have an old smaller form inside so it should be stuffed a little better. The quilting is done with a varigated purple thread. The back is a soft gray twill with a black zipper.
Hopefully, my partner likes this.
Hand appliqued, machine quilted in varigated thread. Made for SewGentle for the Mini QT Swap. Can now post my picture as it has now arrived at Karen's home
It's as if you are laying in a field of daisies!
The colors of this afghan are so peaceful. This is one of my favorites. The colors are Red Heart warm brown, medium sage, varigated and soft white.
The thing that makes this ripple afghan different from the others is the flower row. Your eye always is drawn to it.
I hope you will find this item as peaceful and enjoyable as I do.
