Often I find that there is great beauty in simplicity, form, style and coloration. I like the simplicity of this varigated grass and its splendid movement and curverture. It gives my eye a good resting place in my busy life.

This is really a mini rose but the blooms are very large for that type... I had never seen one quite like it...
The variegated squirrel is a medium-sized squirrel; the head-and-body length is about 260 mm (10.2 in) with a tail of much the same length. It weighs about 500 g (18 oz). The several subspecies differ in appearance and there is often a considerable variation between the appearances of individuals in the same population. The dorsal colouration varies between dark brown to yellowish grey. The neck tends to be darker than other parts and there is often a paler patch behind the ears. The underparts are usually some shade of cinnamon. The tail is long and densely bushy; in Mexico it is black, sometimes with white tips to the hairs giving it a frosted appearance. In Nicaragua and Costa Rica, some individuals have pale underparts and tails.

It's Fun Fact Friday as I post this image, so here's some interesting facts about this national monument located in Oregon. There are three units in this national monument, and each unit is about an hour's drive from any other of the two units (the roads are winding so it's important to drive the actual speed limit). The monument, as a whole, contains fossils of plants and animals that date back as far as 44 million years. The varigated colors of the hills denote periods of climate change, between wetter and drier periods. The darker colors of the hills represent wetter atmospheres, in which water oxidized (rusted) the iron minerals within the soils.

I think this was a different species of bluebell. I think this is one of the original English kind that has been almost completely replaced by the Spanish invader.
