A valuable nectar source for butterflies and bees as this species of scabious has a very long flowering period from July to September. Can be known by many other names such as Lady's Pincushion, Blue Bonnets, Snake Flower, Blackamoors Beauty, Pins-and-Needles etc. This plant was also popular with the old herbalists and used as a herb to treat mange, itches, and scabies.

The Church of Holy Virgin Mary is the oldest and most valuable architectural monument in Inowrocław. Built of granite blocks, closed from the east with a semicircular apse and from the west with two stone and brick towers. Its construction probably began before 1186, during the reign of Duke Leszek (1173–1186). The brick towers were probably completed at the beginning of the 13th century. The church was put into worship before October 6, 1233, when the diocesan synod for the clergy of Kujawy took place.
The church erected on the local hill looks beautiful, but it is a pity that it is inaccessible for passing tourists. It is impossible to see its interior even through the lattice, as is used in other churches.

Klępsk is a small village in the Lubuskie Voivodeship, known for its historic wooden church, which is a pearl of style and value of the highest class art.
Church of Visitation Blessed Virgin Mary is one of the most valuable wooden and half-timbered temples in Europe. From the outside it looks modestly, but the interior delights with the richness of polychrome. It was founded in 14th century, and during the following centuries belonged to both Catholics and Protestants. After the Reformation in 1576, the wooden church was taken over by evangelicals (Lutherans) who carried out renovation works. The result of this reconstruction was the creation of a picturesque, varied external body. At the beginning of the 17th century, the church interior was decorated by biblical paintings of polychrome.

Frauenkirche Dresden.... Built in the 18th century, the church was destroyed in the bombing of Dresden during World War II. The remaining ruins were left for 50 years as a war memorial, following decisions of local East German leaders. The church was rebuilt after the reunification of Germany, starting in 1994. The reconstruction of its exterior was completed in 2004, and the interior in 2005. The church was reconsecrated on 30 October 2005 with festive services lasting through the Protestant observance of Reformation Day on 31 October. The surrounding Neumarkt square with its many valuable baroque buildings was also reconstructed in 2004.

Compiled by C.H.C.A. van Sypesteyn (1857 - 1937), a valuable art collection forms the foundation of the Castle-Museum Sypesteyn in Loosdrecht. In addition to the collection of portraits, furniture, silver and glass objects, clocks and sculptures, there is also a beautiful collection of porcelain. The Loosdrecht porcelain is particularly worth seeing.
The castle gardens
A garden with hedges, moats and decorative wrought-iron gates characterize Sypesteyn Castle. Via paths and bridges, you can walk around the maze and cross the canal and take a leisurely stroll through the orchards, the park and the castle garden. You will discover all sorts of indigenous and exotic trees during your stroll.
Tribute to Van Sypesteyn
The lord of the castle did not build it merely as a place to house his art collection. As the last descendant of the Van Sypesteyn line, he wanted to build the castle to pay tribute to his family. The stunning garden and park were built in the 17th-century style. Surrounded by the Loosdrecht lakes and the Vecht River, the area around the castle is also magnificent.

Murau
Gothic architecture
The parish of Murau is characterized by its five historically valuable churches, as well as by its various forms of worship.
The Murau parish church is one of the earliest and most interesting Gothic sacred buildings in Styria. It goes back to the founding of Otto II von Liechtenstein, the then lord of Murau. Construction began in 1284 above the town, halfway up the south slope of the Schlossberg.
In 1296 the consecration in honor of St. Matthew, the final completion of the building, however, dragged on for a few more years. In 1311, the donor's will reports that the church building, a cruciform basilica with a high choir and a heavy, stone crossing tower, was not quite finished at that time. Late Gothic additions and extensions from the first half of the 17th century. - when after the extinction of the House of Liechtenstein-Murau, the rule passed to the house of the later princes Schwarzenberg - are witnesses of building changes and additions, which, however, in no way changed the basic character of the early Gothic building.

The martial eagle (Polemaetus bellicosus) is a large eagle native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is the only member of the genus Polemaetus.
A species of the booted eagle subfamily (Aquillinae), it has feathering over its tarsus. One of the largest and most powerful species of booted eagle, it is a fairly opportunistic predator that varies it prey selection between mammals, birds and reptiles. Its hunting technique is unique as it is one of few eagle species known to hunt primarily from a high soar, by stooping on its quarry. An inhabitant of wooded belts of otherwise open savanna, this species has shown a precipitous decline in the last few centuries due to a variety of factors.
The martial eagle is one of the most persecuted bird species in the world. Due to its habit of taking livestock and regionally valuable game, local farmers and game wardens frequently seek to eliminate martial eagles, although the effect of eagles on this prey is almost certainly considerably exaggerated.
Currently, the martial eagle is classified with the status of Vulnerable to extinction by the IUCN.
The immature bird looks quite different from the adult. Immature are paler above, and they have white plumage on the underparts. They have a small crest on the crown. They reach adult plumage at about 7 years. - Wikipedia

Photos of ornaments like this rarely appear on web. They are coming from the jewellery collection of the emperors of the forbidden city in central Beijing, China. The forbidden city, a World Heritage Site of UNESCO, is an imperial palace complex, constructed from 1406 to 1420, consisting of 980 buildings in traditional Chinese palatial architecture, which has influenced cultural developments in East Asia and elsewhere.
The collections of the Palace Museum are based on the Qing imperial collection. Today, there are over a million rare and valuable works of art in the permanent collection of the Palace Museum, including paintings, ceramics, seals, steles, sculptures, inscribed wares, bronze wares, enamel objects, etc.
The illustrated early Chinese jewellery masterpiece is a hairpin decorated mainly by blue kingfisher (Alcyone) feathers, as well as butterfly feathers, red coral and other materials. It was indented for personal adornment of the empress. On the left in the background is visible an outstanding brooch, made also by blue kingfisher feathers.
The photo was taken in the context of the exhibition "Forbidden City: The Private Rooms of Emperor Qianlong.” at Acropolis Museum.
This little chipmunk is having a hard time finding acorns and other autumn nuts now that all the leaves have fallen down and hidden those valuable winter food supplies. It looks like this active chipmunk has worn the fur right off its face after pushing all those pesky leaves around😊
Berries have been valuable as a food source for humans since before the start of agriculture, and remain among the primary food sources of other primates. They were a seasonal staple for early hunter-gatherers for thousands of years, and wild berry gathering remains a popular activity in Europe and North America today.
Dark orange & yellow crocosmia
plant.Crocosmia
Crocosmia, or Montbretias as they are colloquially known, are really valuable for adding warm red and orange tones into the summer border, a contrast in shape and form to the wealth of summer daisies in flower at that time. Given conditions where they are happy they can be rewarding and long lived. They retreat each winter to a corm – a swollen stem – each year producing new bulb like structure. Over the years these annual corms can pile up to form lengthy strings with the older corms having some role in providing nutrition to the youngest active corm. It is on account of this that the old practice of annual lifting of corms can be detrimental. Also old wisdom had you lift and replant corms late in the year, a practice that didn’t give the corms enough time to settle before winter.
Crocosmia are relatively easy to grow and it might seem that all Crocosmia are similar and require the same treatment. There is a universal desire for a warm spot in sun or dappled shade and a soil that is neither excessively heavy, nor boggy. However, a little study of the parent species can lead to a greater understanding of the condition individual varieties would really like. Several of the species are to be found growing in light woodland in the wild (C.aurea and C.potsii) or in damp grassland (C.paniculata). As a generalisation they come from environments which are moist for the growing season.
The varying hardiness of Crocosia cultivars can be attributed to the contribution the parents make to their makup. Varieties of Crocosmia potsii are considered the most cold hardy, with those of Crocosmia aurea being the least. Cold isn’t the only hardiness issue, Winter wet is also a factor, with Crocosmia potsii being exposed to a fair degree of moisture all year around in its native environment whilst other species such as Crocosmia pearsei needing a lot more exposure to warm dry conditions to be happy.
In the growing season, Crocosmia masoniorum likes it on the warm and dry side, tending to decline in rich moist soils. This contrasts with the requirement of Crocosmia x crocosmiiflora for a moist, rich warm spot to produce of its best. Cultivars of Crocosmia paniculata tend to be shy to flower in dry conditions.
If you live in an area where you need to lift Crocosmia corms against the winter cold, it is essential to keep them from drying out over winter. Store them in peat or shaving over winter to prevent them dessicating and when it comes to Spring plant them in cool conditions to allow them to rehydrate before shooting. Planting warm from a dry corm is a recipe for disaster.
The name comes from the Greek ‘krokos’ = saffron and ‘osme’ = smell, referring to the strong smell of saffron given off by the dried flowers when immersed in water.
Scattered...
From life to death, everything has its season and everything has its time, though ever so brief. our time here is but a vapour, a mist that is here today and gone tomorrow. At times life seems so futile and insignificant. yet there is one to whom your life is more precocious than gold.
Take time to remember we are all significant and valuable in his eyes.

Male Satin Bowerbirds are well-known for building a large bower decorated with small blue objects. (eBird)
The male Satin Bowerbird is perhaps the best known and well documented of all the bowerbirds in Australia. This fame partially stems from its practice of building and decorating a bower to attract females. This consists of two parallel walls of sticks, is built on the ground, and is used as a courtship arena during the breeding season. The male decorates it with bright blue coloured objects that it collects; blue clothes pegs, drinking straws and bottle tops are among the favourite stolen items, while bright blue parrot feathers, flowers and brown snail shells, make up the majority of decorations away from human habitation. A mixture of chewed vegetable matter and saliva is used to paint the walls of the bower. The bower owner meticulously maintains it throughout the year. Both mature and immature males build bowers and display to prospective females.
On the arrival of a female, the male Satin Bowerbird leaps into a ritualised display of exaggerated movements, such as strutting and bowing, with wings outstretched and quivering, and accompanied by a variety of mechanical-sounding calls, such as buzzing and rattling interspersed with mimicry. One of the bower decorations is usually carried in the male's bill. If impressed, the female moves into the bower avenue for mating and then leaves to perform the nesting duties on her own, while the male readies himself for courting more prospective females. (Australian Museum)
-------------
I couldn't post photos of the bowerbird pair without the appropriate bower. The little tunnel at the top left of the image is the actual bower where the deed will finally take place. The blue decorations are to attract the female in the first place. I was surprised to see so much blue plastic cutlery scattered among the bottle tops. Perhaps O'Reilly's brings it in especially for the birds. As with other bowerbird bowers, these decorations are valuable and are often stolen from neighbouring bowers. A piece can travel between all the different bowers over the course of the breeding season. Before plastic became available, they would collect blue flowers, feathers and perhaps even stones for the bower.

Church of St. Jakub the Apostle in Wągrowiec is a valuable monument of church architecture in Greater Poland. It was built in the second half of the 16th century in the late Gothic style, using material from an older Romanesque church.
The interior of the church is three-nave. The main renaissance altar from around 1600. Renaissance paintings from this altar, which were sent to Warsaw for preservation, were burnt during the bombings of the city by the German army in 1939. The rainbow beam with the Passion group comes from the late sixteenth century.

The Town Hall in Wschowa is a valuable monument of the city.
It is mentioned for the first time in 1435. During the fire in 1529 it was partially destroyed, but the tower has survived. The town hall was rebuilt in the years 1556-1612, again damaged during a fire in 1685 and soon rebuilt as a three-storey building with a baroque façade. Today's town hall is the result of reconstruction from 1860-1870 in neo-Gothic style.

Ratusz we Wschowie stanowi cenny zabytek miasta.
Dzisiejszy ratusz to wynik przebudowy z lat 1860-1870 w stylu neogotyckim.
