Protegendo uma área de 240.611ha de cerrado de altitude, abriga espécies e formações vegetais únicas, centenas de nascentes e cursos d’água, rochas com mais de um bilhão de anos, além de paisagens de rara beleza, com feições que se alteram ao longo do ano. O Parque também preserva áreas de antigos garimpos, como parte da história local. Foi declarado Patrimônio Natural da Humanidade pela UNESCO, em 2001.

Leven Vale is the sight of a dismantled railway that was to serve Warren Mine on the North Yorkshire Moors, England
In 1872, another company, the “Leven Vale Company Ltd”, took out a new lease on the site. Within a short period this company had built a row of stone cottages for its workers.
No further progress occurred in completing the Warren mine site works and shafts. It did, however, continue to mine the Top Seam ironstone from the valley side until in 1874 this company too went into receivership.
Täglich um 12.00 Uhr und um 16.00 Uhr werden in Valetta die Kanonen abgefeuert. Sie dienten früher den Seefahrern zum Einstellen ihrer Uhren. Heut sind sie touristische Attraktion.
Every day at 12.00 and 16.00, the cannons are fired in Valetta. They used to serve sailors to set their watches. Today they are tourist attraction.
