Built to replace the 75 and based on parent companies Fiat Tipo platform. Designed in house under Ercole Soada by I.D.E.A. Institute to a design with a low drag coefficient of 0.29 but with a large boot space. The most significant change from the 75 was the switch to FWD.
The new model came with either Sport or Super guises the Sport having a lower ride height and a more aggressive suspension, while the Super had a more luxurious trim level and softer electrically controlled dampers.. Updated in 1995 with a wider track and revised steering (the V6 retained the original steering set up). There were several Sports packs available, including race inspired body kit (spoilers and side skirts) and black coloured graphite 16 inch Speedline wheels. Production ceased when the 155 was replaced with the 156 which moved away from the wedge shaped styling.
The 2.5ltr V6 is at the top of the range, it's engine derived from the 3.0 ltr V6 of the Alfa Romeo 164 producing 166 PS.

- Royale V6 Sabre ' Tullulah '
The Royale car company started in 1990
(ceased trading in 2001 ) the aim was to produce a Car with the looks of the 1930s Classic car - ( a bit like the Morgan ?)
this is their 2 seater Roadster model .. produced from 1994
( it appears less than 500 Royale Sabres have been built )
according to the information I can find - all the Royale Sabre models had a fabric convertible roof ..
But obviously a Hard top was developed somewhere along the line ..... ( as above ) by the Royale Automobile company OR one of the subsequent Owners of the Company ..

The Cesaro was another special edition Vauxhall used on the Cavalier, I'm not sure if it was just on the V6s.

That rear arch... There was a good couple of inches of bubbling above the visible rust around the length of the arch - just visible on zoom. And it was the same on the other side.
