El alcalde de Quevedo, Jorge Domínguez, firmó un convenio interinstitucional con el ECU 911 y cortó la cinta con la que las autoridades asistentes inauguraron oficialmente la sala de operaciones que funciona en la UVC del distrito Quevedo.
El Primer personero de la ciudad, quien estuvo acompañado de los concejales Farid Burgos y Mercy Franco; junto al Ministro de Seguridad, César Navas; el Gral. Lenin Bolaños, el Crnl. Víctor Hugo Tapia; la jefe Política, Rina Morán; y los directores del ECU 911, entrante y saliente; presenciaron la ceremonia de entrega de la mencionada sala.
A través de un video proyectado en el espejo se dio a conocer la importancia de la ubicación de estas salas a nivel nacional, luego el director saliente del ECU 911 destacó las bondades del sistema y su aplicación en todo el país.
En Ministro César Navas, en su alocución resaltó el proyecto de vigilancia, ya que con el mismo ha disminuido el índice de inseguridad a nivel país; sin embargo, puntualizó que aún hay mucho por hacer y se apunta a que exista un cada UPC de los diferentes distritos un monitorio de su territorio.
Luego el alcalde fue invitado por el nuevo director del ECU 911 para la firma del convenio interinstitucional entre el GAD y el ECU 911, mediante el cual el Municipio de Quevedo en lo posterior acepta el compromiso de incrementar el número de cámaras para adosarlo al sistema de vigilancia del 911.
Mientras que el ECU 911 se compromete a ampliar el rango de acción y a facilitar las instalaciones para que funcionen más ojos de águila y con este aporte institucional garantizar al cien por ciento la seguridad integral a los ciudadanos de norte de Los Ríos.
