I went to wings and steam event at rougham airfield a few years ago and photographed some of the engines there was so much smoke from these old engines that the photographs were not up to much but as I have said in the past I am useless at photoshop but I did buy a version of light room and have had the time to watch some videos on utube on how to use it so with taking some notes I have been using it for a week now and I am thrilled how it has transformed many of my old shots and made them useable its not so good at the wildlife shots but its brilliant in other areas
this is a Clayton & Shuttleworth traction engine built in 1919

The picture was soft and I would have rejected it had it no been for Topaz Detail which is a Photoshop plug in. I also had to use noise reduction software. I had to crop it too. Shot with a zoom lens on manual focus. I used a tripod for stability.

Leonard Knight has constructed his biblical opus in the southeastern corner of California (near Niland)....it is a very strange place...Leonard is a strange man...but perhaps the excess of religious fervor makes for some interesting images. He constructs the "structure" of some of his spaces with hay bales and old tires...windows in the structure are provided by old car windshields....Leonard has spent over 15 years in the searing heat of the desert...not sure how the ecosystem of Salvation Mountain does with all the toxic paint on the earth.....

Le foto del viaggio in barca tra le Isole Ionie. Un vero viaggio, non una semplice crociera, perché oltre la vela e il mare abbiamo vissuto numerose esperienze sulla terraferma.
Abbiamo assaporato da vicino quegli aspetti e quelle curiosità che fanno parte del mondo ellenico e che solitamente si perdono durante una classica vacanza in barca a vela.
Abbiamo degustato vino, cucinato nella cucina di una taverna sul mare, prodotto i nostri formaggi, mangiato i piatti tipici, ma soprattutto abbiamo conosciuto i greci.
Un mix di mare e terra!

The picts of the boat trip between the Ionian Islands. A real journey, not just a cruise, because beyond sailing and the sea we have tried many experiences on land.
We have closely tasted those aspects and those curiosities that are part of the Hellenic world and that are usually lost during a classic sailing holiday.
We tasted wine, cooked in the kitchen of a tavern on the sea, produced our cheese, ate typical dishes, but above all we met the Greeks.
A mix of sea and land!

A local Flickrite posted in the Colorado Springs Flickr group as to the location of the rock face carvings in Ute Valley park. We had never heard of these so we googled it and found a couple of utube videos talking about ufo sightings and possibly the Ute indians carving these. So after watching the videos several times Nicole and I set out with almost no idea of where to start looking in the 339 acre park for something the size of your hand....and we actually found it! All fairly interesting but looks like something done by bored teenagers to me...but you never know!

Deaf School Live in December 23rd 2011. The band date back to the early seventies and came together in Liverpool. The members where students at Liverpool Art Collage, just three years ahead of me (I was the same year as the band Yachts). The first Album by Deaf school “Second Honeymoon” was a great local success. The opening track “What a way to end it all” soon became my sign-off tune at the end of discos I was running every week. Due to being busy with working myself I never got to see the band live in the seventies. This concert has been a great thrill for me to see one of my local idols performing live.
Bette Bright went on to perform solo, and then married Suggs from Madness, and retired from singing.
Clive Langer on guitar went on to become a top producer, joined Big in Japan & Clive Langer and the Boxes
Ian Ritchie is a composer, producer, arranger and saxophonist. In 2006-2008 Ritchie toured as the saxophonist with Roger Waters.
John Wood is an original member of the rock band Deaf School where he performs as Max Ripple, he was also an original member of the Kreutzer Quintet.
The band maintain a large cult following and the Concert at Birkenhead was packed with fans old and new.
The Pacific Road Arts Centre is under threat of closing and it sadly may be that Deaf School will be the last to perform here.

The Perito Moreno Glacier, a declared UNESCO World Heritage site is located 78km west of El Calafate in the Santa Cruz region of Patagonian Argentina and is is one of 48 glaciers in Patagonian Argentina and Chile.
The Perito Moreno Glacier covers an area of 255 square km, is 30km long and 5km wide, 50 to 70m above lake level and about 100m below. At its deepest point, the ice is 700 m thick, although the average is much less at approximately 170m.
Without doubt this massive glacier was one of the most accessible and visually stunning natural phenomenons I have seen anywhere in the world.
My first sight of the glacier at Curva de Los Suspiros lookout belied its massive size but when I finally got up close to the southern ice face in Brazo Rico in a cruise boat I was absolutely stunned by its sheer enormity. That was just the start of the experience and after the cruise we traveled a short distance around the Magallanes Peninsula to the lengthy boardwalk viewing platform where panoramic viewing of the eastern and northern terminus faces was possible. From the boardwalk one could see and hear massive chunks of ice calving off the glacier as it moved inexorably forward at a rate reported to be around 1.5 to 2m per day.
At the time of my visit in March 2003 the Perito Moreno Glacier was one of the few glaciers in the world that was considered stable, ie. not retreating. Both the Upsala and San Rafael Glaciers which I also visited in South America were clearly, by comparison dramatically receding.
The interesting thing about the Perito Moreno Glacier is that at times, after of a lot of ice buildup, the glacier terminus actually reaches land at the tip of the Magallanes Peninsula. When this happens the ice buildup completely blocks Brazo Rico damming it off from the northern Canal de Temanos, causing Lago Argentino to be divided into two distinct water bodies with the southern water body, Brazo Rico's water volume rising as much as 25-30m higher than the water level in the northern Canal de Tempanos.
Eventually the water finds a weak point, a rupture occurs, and water under great pressure crashes through from Brazo Rico into Canal de Tempanos in one massive and no doubt spectacular flooding event which of course is eagerly awaited by Glaciologists, TV news crews and tourists alike. This rupture event has tended to occur about once every 4-5 years. The last such rupture event occurred on January 19, 2013, and previously, March 4, 2012, 2008, 2006, 2004, 1988, 1986, 1980, 1977, 1975, 1972, 1970, 1966, 1963, 1960, 1956, 1953, 1952, 1947, 1940, 1934 and 1917. So mesmerized was this monster glacier was I that I almost failed to allocate enough time to actually photograph it. I spent considerable time just walking up and down the long boardwalk, completely captivated by the awesomeness of the ice landscape in my view, listening to its constant rumbling sounds and becoming completely immersed in the sheer wonder of it all.

Made for a friend's 2 year old grandson. The Gruffalo is approx 14" x 14" on an 18" board. A lot of cake but you get carried away.! All chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream. I tried adding cocoa powder to my sugar paste for colour and flavour as I've seen it done on utube but my paste was getting a bit dry. But it would have tasted lovely.
There are a huge amount of Gruffalo cakes and
I looked at a lot of photos online for inspiration and found this idea which I tweaked to suit me. But sadly I can't find the originator to acknowledge on here.
