In 1873 Mr. Richardson and Dr. Cosad joined resources to make the most of three adjacent lots on Trinity Park. When the treble cottage was completed Dr. Cosasd occupied the upper residence and the center unit was purchased by Rev. Craig, Presiding Elder of the Jersey City District of the Methodist Church. Architecturally this treble cottage is one of the prettiest buildings on the grounds, and its very appearance denotes taste and refinement. It is ornamented by a French roof, bay windows, and plate glass doors, and is in every essential a beautiful place of residence.

I have often crossed this bridge going into Jersey City. We always refer to it as the Ugly Bridge. The Wittpenn Bridge is a vertical lift bridge that carries New Jersey Route 7 over the Hackensack River connecting Kearny and Jersey City, New Jersey. It is named after H. Otto Wittpenn, a former mayor of Jersey City.

“The story of Cuba is complicated, and to understand it, it’s even more complicated”.- says our good friend, Jejo.

I asked him why are there so many motorcycles in Santiago de Cuba. “There are many steep hills here and it’s easier for motos to operate”.- Jejo says. “I see some new motos. How is it possible?”- I asked. “40-50 years ago many Cubans were studying in East Germany, Russia and Czechoslovakia, and when they returned, they were allowed to bring one motorcycle home. People who own these old motorcycles can exchange them to new Suzuki kits that the government purchased from Japan. The kit consists off all the components besides the framing.” After that conversation, every time I saw a new moto, I couldn’t stop thinking that someone had made that frame and also put all the pieces together.

Both of these buildings at one time were the tallest in Jersey City. One great thing about working here is the view of Manhattan and the Harbor.

Just when I thought Savannah couldn't be anymore beautiful, I was amazed by the driveway that was lined with more than four hundred oak trees in Wormsloe, a colonial estate near downtown Savannah. This colonial estate from 1736, belonged to Noble Jones, one of the original 114 English colonists that arrived in Georgia in 1733. It is the walls of his home, constructed from 1737-1745, that is considered to be the oldest standing structures in the Savannah area. The property overlooks Jones' Narrows, which was the main waterway for ships that were traveling through the area during the 1700's. It has since clogged with silt making it impossible for travel.

During his lengthy mayoralty in Jersey City and political stronghold in Hudson County, Frank Hague's favorite ongoing project was the Medical Center--a hospital for the poor that provided free state-of-the-art health care for those in need. During the decades that followed, the Medical Center complex was one of the most visible and recognizable landmarks of Jersey City.

The original Clipper City was built as a cargo schooner just prior to the Civil War, then rebuilt from the original plans, on loan from the Smithsonian Institution, and recently refurbished. The new, restored Clipper City, with a length of 158 feet and a height of 120 feet, can comfortably sail 150 people — the most of any passenger sailboat in the United States.

Heiress Florence Vanderbilt, granddaughter of Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt, renowned as the richest man in America, and her husband, financier Hamilton McKown Twombly, wanted a country estate. In 1887 they came to the quiet Morris County countryside, where over 100 other millionaires owned sprawling country retreats and built Florham.

One of the first movies I saw as a child. I road on this ride with my children in Disney World, maybe even in this Dumbo.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant is an aerial carousel-style ride located in Fantasyland at five Disney parks around the world. The original attraction opened at Disneyland in October 1955, three months after the park opened. The four other versions of the attraction were opening-day attractions at their respective parks.

One elephant from the ride is in the collection of the National Museum of American History, donated in 2005, on the occasion of Disneyland's 50th anniversary

After the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence it was read aloud in towns across the country. This reading keeps alive that historical event.

After visiting Fort Pulaski, I drove out to Tybee Island for lunch. My Tom Tom brought me to The Crab Shack. Very chill place; Margaritaville was playing from Sirius Radio. Staff was very nice and the bartender was awesome! I had Deviled Crab with the Shack Stew and washed it down with a Red Stripe. Did I mention there are live gators outside?

"Named after General Casmir Pulaski, the Polish hero who was mortally wounded at the Siege of Savannah 1779. Begun in 1829 and completed in 1847, the fort was constructed principally under Lt. J.F.K Mansfield. There Robert E. Lee saw his first service after his graduation from West Point.

Fort Pulaski was never garrisoned until its seizure by Georgia troops in 1861 to prevent occupation by Federal forces. On April 10, 1862, Federal batteries on Tybee Island commenced the bombardment of Fort Pulaski. After 30 hours of bombardment as a result of which the walls were breached and its guns disabled. Col H. Olmstead surrendered the Fort. The bombardment marked the first effective use of rifled cannon against a masonry fortification and constituted an epoch in military history.

Abandoned by 1885, Fort Pulaski became a national monument in 1924 and placed under the national park service in 1933."
