On to a new series away from the mountains. I went out on an early morning shoot in and around downtown Denver, Colorado. This is not really something I like to do, but something I choose to do. Going out to shoot in nature is generally easy. Creation has a natural beauty to it that is easy for me to get my head around. The urban environment... especially in and around a large city, is much more of a challenge. I have to remember to look past what "I" see, and ask myself, What do I SEE? I'm not a photojournalist or looking to document accurately just as something was. Rather, I want to take what "was" and reflect the idea of a memory, a story, and a past.
Like exercise, stretching isn't fun, but it does end up helping in the long run.
