During the weeks of the HWT Experiment, forecasters assess a new tool using rapidly-updating high-resolution gridded Probabilistic Hazard Information (PHI) as the basis for next-generation severe weather warnings. This experiment is part of a broad effort to revitalize the NWS watch/warning paradigm known as Forecasting a Continuum of Environmental Threats (FACETs). The major emphasis of the HWT PHI experiment is on initial testing of concepts related to human-computer interaction while generating short-fused high-impact Probabilistic Hazard Information for severe weather. The long-term goal of this effort is to move the refined concepts and methodologies that result from this experiment into Hazard Services, the next generation warning tool for the NWS, for further testing and evaluation in the HWT prior to operational deployment. This experiment will run concurrently with the “HS-PHI with End Users” experiment.

Early June 2026

Exactly what the title states... I felt I was jinxed that evening. Every time I got close it would die off. Nice structure, good development. But it was not to be. It happens sometimes...

A few good opportunities but you had to know where to look. That part I have covered. Took advantage of what was viable for this set of images.

Changed position to the other side of the city. Now on the far east side of the city as the storm have moved a bit south & to the east of my previous location. Again this storm was supposed to move directly over my location but it had other plans.

Final shots of that night... it was super late. I was tired. But I stuck around til the storm faded...

Sometimes OSX loses its mind and reckons that I am the user called ????. Then you can't connect to the Net and your password (and everyone else's password) won't work. You have to force restart. But what happens to make it do this?

UMass Boston student Stephanie Bonvissuto took this picture this summer.

Due to some user error and some serious craziness with Flickr's uploader this got posted a bit early. Flickr's free doughnut day is tomorrow: rurl.org/o4b.

ANYway, my surprise is already spoiled and Flickr seems bound and determined to keep this up here....so, here is me being a total nerd. Sorry to those who left comments the first time.
