As in life, droids have an evolution too. Having fun with how the droids unfold themselves from storage mode to attack mode and the imagery one typically sees in evolution posters. Upscaled droid is 3x size of the smaller ones.

Lunch at a nice restaurant called Methavalai Sorndaeng

Live entertainment was included

Left: Jabberwock AKA Sharon Drummond

Right: Snark AKA DeForestRanger AKA Crow

Crow said, "Early in the week, I sent Sharon a whine, essentially pleading with her to go easy on me because this is the busiest time of the year at Mount Rainier National Park, and I had been given several duty assignments in addition to my regularly scheduled work. She was more than willing to oblige and sent me what I am certain she felt would be an easy image for me to counter. That did not prove to be the case. In what little time I had available to me, I checked spots where I knew I'd seen birdhouses ranked along fencelines and posts. I did not find a single one. I began casting about for other interpretations and finally decided I'd go in town on my one remaining day to check out my favorite nursery and if that didn't pan out with something which was at least colorful, I'd stop somewhere in suburbia and take a shot of human habitations. The nursery failed to deliver, so I thought I was stuck with Plan B. As I headed toward my fishing buddy's neighborhood, I spotted a roadside vendor, but couldn't cross the line of traffic and had to circle back. He was willing to allow me to photograph his wares, but for the entire time I was arranging them in a similar orientation to Sharon's cute little cottages, he tried every ploy he could think of to hard-sell me. Easy? Should have been, but this assignment wound up being an Experience with a capital E!"

My response: Kudos to Crow for getting such a fabulous shot for her response! As she said, I figured that an artificial crow would be an easy find for her. Of course, she went way above and beyond to find the absolute perfect fit for the image rather than taking the easy way out. Well done!

Soweto is home to a population of about 2 million people, about 99% black. This house is in one of the upscale parts of Soweto.

The latest in SilentMode innovations: customisation of these LEGO upscaled minifigure mugs.

Originally I was going to paint the red and blue ones black, but when the official black ones were released as part of The LEGO Batman Movie, the game changed.

These mugs were the primary reason for getting my new customisation toy: a Silhouette Portrait vinyl cutter.

At the start of every day at LLNY entertainment puts on a small show and chooses a kid in the crowd to “power on the park”. The actors wear “Master Model Builder” costumes and needed some tools to help them look the part.

I designed upscaled replicas of the pliers and rubber mallets that we use everyday in the model shop.

It’s always a blast doing full size props and 1:1 models.

The plyers even REALLY PLY!

After leaving the Kingdom of Swaziland, we went to the Hluhluwe-iMfalozi GAme Reserve in Kwazulu Natal South Africa.

Upscale restaurant/bar/club filming location -- urban loft chic, high ceilings, parking lots nearby. Easy production vehicle street parking, film friendly neighbors. Rates vary depending on day of week and time of day.

Bette's Ocean view Diner is a famous Berkeley eatery, and although it lacks an ocean view, the food and atmosphere are terrific. The immediate area once appeared rather blighted, but has been yuppified... gentrified... centrifuged?
