Upper and Lower Table Rocks are two of the most prominent topographic features in the Rogue River Valley. These flat-topped buttes rise approximately 800 feet above the north bank of the Rogue River in southwestern Oregon. Upper and Lower refer to their positions relative to each other along the Rogue River; Lower Table Rock is located downstream, or lower on the river, from Upper Table Rock.
The Table Rocks were designated in 1984 as an Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) to protect special plants and animal species, unique geologic and scenic values, and education opportunities. The remarkable diversity of the Table Rocks includes a spectacular spring wildflower display of over 75 species, including the dwarf wooly meadowfoam (Limnanthes floccosa ssp. pumila), which grows nowhere else on Earth but on the top of the Table Rocks. Vernal pool fairy shrimp (Branchinecta lynchi), federally listed as threatened, inhabit the seasonally formed vernal pools found on the tops of both rocks.
The 4,864-acre Table Rocks Management Area is cooperatively owned and administered by the Medford District Bureau of Land Management (2,105 acres) and The Nature Conservancy (2,759 acres). Memorandums of Understanding signed in 2011 and 2012 with the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde and the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians allow for coordinating resources to protect the Table Rocks for present and future generations. A cooperative management plan for the area was completed in 2013.
From Interstate 5, take Exit #33 heading east one mile on East Pine Street and turn north at the signal onto Table Rock Road. Drive 5.3 miles to Modoc Road and turn north. The trailhead is accessible off Modoc Road.
The Upper Table Rock trail is approximately 2.5 miles round trip with an elevation gain of 736 feet. Allow 2 to 3 hours for the entire hike. It is an easy/moderate trail with some steep sections. Good sturdy shoes and water are strongly recommended. There is no water available on the trail or at the trailhead. This trail is suggested for first time hikers.
On your ascent up the trail keep an eye out for the unique monolith rock formations. These irregular shaped monoliths may have been part of the original lava flow. On a clear day the summit offers a spectacular panoramic view that includes the Rogue River valley, Mt. McLoughlin, Mt. Ashland, and Pilot Rock.

Upper Taobutt, Neelum Valley, Azad Kashmir. This is the point where Neelum Valley road in Azad Kashmir ends. A few kilometers from here is the points where Kishinganga river enters into the Azad Kashmir and becomes Neelum.
is not moving far enough to the left and thereby failing to include the left needle thread in the chain.
As I rock the mechanism back an forth note the needles moving up and down. The upper looper moving across the path of the needle should carry its thread to the left of the left needle.
I can't find anything loose causing this timing problem. My wife had the needle carriage come loose recently. That incident may have jarred the upper looper causing slippage somewhere in the mechanics. Not having a service manual I am forced to wing it. I chose to make the adjustment at the cam end of the mechanical chain because that required no further disassembly. My first attempt resulted in a collision of the loopers. As I turned the hand wheel I found the upper looper strike the lower looper. The correct clearance between the two loopers at this point is a secret, only revealed to factory trained technicians. :) My second attempt proved fruitful, perpetuating my genius status, if only in my wife's eyes.

The focal point of the cabin is the redesigned bar which is a design collaboration between the Virgin Atlantic in-house team and VW&BS and manufactured by Altitude. Progressing on from the A330 bar, it frames the Upper Class cabin and greets all passengers on boarding. The bar boasts a white Corian worktop as well as RBG white LED lighting which can be controlled independently of the cabin allowing crew to tailor the look and the atmosphere depending on the destination, time of day and the desires of the customer. A central feature of the new lighting concept is the use of the textured back-lit panelling in the bar area which creates depth, movement and intrigue. The design of the new bar encourages interaction and sociability with four stools, a perch and a lean-to allowing eight people to relax comfortably in the area. Two stools now sit opposite each other to offer customers the option of dual dining at the bar. Taking inspiration from the trend of the “communal table” new experiences for customers at the bar have also been developed, including pre-dinner cocktail hour, wine tasting and social dining experiences. There is also an interactive TV screen at the bar with a view to showing popular events, ambient backdrops or simply flight progress, adding to the social aspect of the area
- www.kevin-palmer.com - Before heading back, I wanted to make it to the Upper Lost Twin Lake. This was more difficult than I expected, since there was no trail, and I had to hop across boulders still wet from the morning storms. But I finally reached the shore of the upper lake.

Upper Raceway is the top level water power channel of the old Paterson Raceway System. Water is drawn from the river in the distance from above the falls. From here water fell through two levels powering the various mills and shops for over 100 years. The bridge in the immediate foreground is the waste weir where water spills from the upper to the middle raceway. The less water used in the upper raceway, the more spillage though the weir, the more used, less spills over. Think of it as a regulator.
Upper Raceway is now a sort of linear park that runs several hundred feet along the old channel. Each of the three raceways has a path you can walk. Upper Raceway almost always has water in it. This channel was first constructed in 1791.
It's been Drama and the City ever since Carrie Bradshaw and her Louboutin heels hit the streets of the upper East Side to begin filming "Sex and the City 2" on Tuesday. Hordes of fans began bombarding the set as early as 7 a.m. on the first day of shooting, and it seems that the return of the fashionable foursome - and their hunky male co-stars - has caused a little too much excitement. Film security has had to tighten its game when dealing with the crazed Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda wanna-bes. "They looked more like they were protecting the President than Sarah Jessica Parker," said an onlooker at 84th St. and Park Ave., where the leggy leading lady was repeatedly being filmed hailing a cab. "At one point, teenage girls were practically trampling each other trying to get to Sarah Jessica as she was walking back to her trailer, but her security team was shoving everyone out of the way." When SJP noticed her detail's tactics, she implored them not to "hurt her fans." Said the onlooker: "She looked upset and extremely concerned. The guards were getting pretty rough." The muscles aren't concerned only about the "SATC" ladies. By 9:30 yesterday morning, they were already fighting off fans who had lined up on 52nd St., where Chris Noth and SJP were shooting a scene inside an office building that's reportedly serving as Mr. Big's. "The security team looked really anxious when a male fan approached Chris for a photo," another spy says. Like Parker, Noth told the detail to back off and happily stopped for the fan. At least the fearless followers got reassurance that Carrie and Mr. Big are back on track - they were both sporting wedding rings during filming yesterday, while that accessory was conspicuously missing from Parker's hand on Tuesday. Later yesterday morning, the hysteria continued as fellow "SATC" star Cynthia Nixon (l.) had to be rerouted to her trailer when crowds began aggressively approaching her. "People were screaming and trying to push past guards," a source said. Onlookers were then told that she wouldn't be filming her scene after all. "The fans were just too much," continued the snitch. "Security looked legitimately concerned for her safety." As Miz Bradshaw would say, hey, that's New York!

This 2001 mural is on the south wall of my studio in Upper Lake, CA, an old west town that looks much as it did in 1856. I lived here for 8 years. Tony Oliveira, my model for the cowboy, owns this building and is a friend. I intended to add paintings of Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Hopalong Cassidy and Randolph Scott in addition to other people from the town - but I moved back to Los Angeles to assist Nathan Zakheim in removing years of spray paint vandalism from my Olympic and Marathon Murals for the State of CA. I stayed in LA. I had originally painted an authentic US Marshall's badge on his chest, an allusion to the Earp brothers, but removed it to make him more like every man.

Wikipedia reports: Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is on Navajo land east of Page, Arizona. Antelope Canyon includes two separate, scenic slot canyon sections, referred to individually as "Upper Antelope Canyon" or "The Crack"; and "Lower Antelope Canyon" or "The Corkscrew." The Navajo name for Upper Antelope Canyon is Tsé bighánílíní, which means 'the place where water runs through rocks'. Lower Antelope Canyon is Hazdistazí (called "Hasdestwazi" by the Navajo Parks and Recreation Department), or 'spiral rock arches'. Both are in the LeChee Chapter of the Navajo Nation. The canyons are accessible by guided tour only."

This is the upper section of upper kenebec creek falls in the south yuba river state park. This one is a bit difficult to get down to. There is a much bigger drop below this as well.
We spent a day at Strathcona Park and did a couple of short hikes to some very nice falls. This is the upper section of Myra Falls that drops directly into Buttle Lake. Myra Falls has a series of drops that follow along fault lines where past earthquakes have shifted the elevation of the bedrock. You can really only see the entire falls from the lake. The overall height of the falls is 211 feet.
