These are the real colours of the Purple Crested Turaco (Tauraco porphyreolophus) of Southern Africa. Except for slight saturation increase in the blue due my deliberate underexposure, this is as colourful as they are. Crazy right? The spectacular red primaries (feathers at wing tips) can only be seen when it is in flight. It has taken me 5 years of chasing in the wild to get a crisp and sunlit BiF of this species as they are shy and wary of humans and are mostly only seen in the forest canopy amongst the darkness of branches and leaves...

Singapore does have a very distinctive skyline. One that seems even more extraordinary on a night. This view was taken by the Gardens by the Bay just before one of the twice nightly light and sound shows.
sunrise mood with an upcoming thunderstorm in our back. The rising sun soaked the Clouds with a purple orange hue and some minutes later we were soaked with a sh..load of rain :)
The Location is a small hunting Castle near Stuttgart: "Baerenschloessle"
Now I feel like sharing this with all you Flickrheads. As winter grinds towards it's conclusion I'll share a couple of not ready for prime time 26 shots from it like this ridiculous menagerie of power on a U723.
I tried to desaturate the yellows so that this would look at all believable. The rain this winter has resulted in some incredible wildflower displays, this one near Carrizo Plain in California.

Horrible background, Wrongly cropped, the composition sucks....those shoes could've been scattered a bit better to be honest with you, a very unprepared pose, Messy to the Max.........but hey, enough about LIFE !!!!
