Here you can see how far a boat has to move vertically to transverse the locks at the Panama Canal. The Fortune Unity is in the near lock, with about 25 feet between the water level and the top of the lock. Once the boat is in position, it takes about 10 minutes to raise the water level that 25 feet. The far lock is already full from the last ship that went through.
The Maryland Military Department came together to recognize the diverse backgrounds and cultures of its members through the seventh annual Unity Day celebration at the Fifth Regiment Armory in Baltimore, Md., April 26.
Unity Day is an opportunity to observe the different ethnic backgrounds that make up the Military Department and educate the members on what makes each culture unique. This year’s theme was ‘Recognizing Diversity and Religion – one nation, many voices.’

This was the next covered Bridge after the Lowell one on the Willamette River... Unity was a little crossroad and the only store there was closed.. I guess all that is left now is the covered bridge... It crosses Big Fall Creek..

The Oakland Housing Authority, The John Stewart Company, Oakland Digital Arts & Literacy Center (ODALC) and the Craigslist Foundation held the 2010 West Oakland National Night Out (NNO) on 8th Street & Mandela in Oakland, California.
Oakland Digital Arts & Literacy Center (ODALC) provided the community with a Digital Photography booth with cool activities and an innovative approach for West Oakland youth to pick-up new skills.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

The Skins Team taught youths how to use the program Unity, in our workshop titled Imagining Indigenous Worlds with Unity. Over the course of five intensive days, participants were tasked with creating a walking-simulator, in which the player can explore a world that is unique to their lived experience (or imaginative!).
