"I would like Stephen to be remembered as a young man who had a future. He was well loved, and had he been given the chance to survive maybe he would have been the one to bridge the gap between black and white because he didn't distinguish between black or white. He saw people as people” Doreen Lawrence
In just two weeks time Ellie Goulding will take to the stage alongside some of the biggest names in British music for ‘Unity – A Concert for Stephen Lawrence’. Also performing at the concert will be Jahmene Douglas and the London Community Gospel Choir.
Ellie said: "I am thrilled to be joining the line up alongside amazing artists for such a worthwhile event - to be able to use music for a good cause is a dream for me so I hope that everyone who comes has a fantastic night and that the message will help to make positive and meaningful changes to peoples' lives. This is about all of us uniting for social empowerment."
The concert aims to unite communities and bring people of all backgrounds together through the common language of music. It marks the 20th anniversary of Stephen Lawrence’s murder. Through the work of Stephen’s mother, Doreen Lawrence and The Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust, Britain is changing but there is still much more to be done. The SL20 campaign, set up by the Trust to mark this important anniversary, aims to highlight Stephen’s legacy and the vital work undertaken by the charity in his name. This concert will play a pivotal role in the SL20 initiative.

Luminar Leisure Ltd was granted a licence to open the 'Oceana' nightclub in 2006, which involved converting Unity House into the venue.
There were concerns, however, from the police that it might increase crime, anti-social behaviour and noise in the city centre.
In April 2008, the plans for this 2,000-capacity superclub in Wakefield have failed in the High Court.
Unity House was formerly the headquarters of the 'Wakefield Industrial Co-Operative Society'. Some twenty years after this building was built co-op became a household name!

Men standing in front of the Unity Pool Room, located at 795 Main Street (between the C.P. Railway and Jarvis). This building also housed the Railway Porter's union (a primarily black occupation) for many years.
Many men in Winnipeg's small black population were employed as porters, and many in the early and mid-20th century lived along Sutherland and Higgins Avenue, close to the C.P. station. This small neighborhood within a neighborhood was invariably known as "the Black Belt" or "the Loop," and anchored by the Porter's Union and businesses at 795 Main, and Pilgrim Baptist Church on Maple and Macdonald Avenue, which still exists as a thriving, largely black congregation at this location.

This is an example of unity because the rocks all have the same colour scheme. The symbol itself is also a form of unity. I used texture and form to make the principle of unity.

Unity Reggae Band put on a great show last night. I've seen them perform several times at Marshy Point's Popsicle Plunge, where they freeze their butts off entertaining the plungers and guests. I was looking forward to hearing what they sound like when they have a good sound man at the controls, and they certainly didn't disappoint.
The Police Unity Tour is four-day bicycle ride from New Jersey to Washington, DC to raise public awareness about law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty, and to ensure that their sacrifice is never forgotten. The primary purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty. The last leg of the journey ends at the Law Enforcement Memorial, where the participants are greeted by friends, family, and survivors. Once there, many Police Unity Tour members present remembrance bracelets worn on their wrists throughout the journey to the families of the fallen.
