This is a photograph from the 5th annual Braveheart 5KM Trail Run which was held in the wonderful historic grounds of Trim Castle, Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland at 20:00 on Friday 13th June 2014. This unique event is staged along the banks of the Boyne and will take in many of the medieval sites of the town through the Porchfields. The heritage trails of Trim are an excellent leisure resource, and always prove popular with runners. Trim Castle, the largest Anglo-Norman castle in Ireland, was constructed over a thirty-year period by Hugh de Lacy and his son Walter. Hugh de Lacy was granted the Liberty of Meath by King Henry II in 1172. This race is the envy of many in Ireland as it is an opportunity for runners to run in one of the world's most historic castles. This year over 600 runners took part. Congratulations to everyone in Trim AC for staging an incredible night of racing. The beautiful summer's evening made the event one which was raced in the most perfect of settings.

Our full set of photographs from the event are at www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157645195984413/

The race is run completely within Porchfields in Trim. Views of Trim Castle dominate the race from almost all vantage points. The race starts close to the Yellow Steeple and proceeds clockwise around the upper field of Porchfields. The route then goes right down to the River Boyne and use the pedestrian underpass under the R154 to access the easterly field in Porchfields. The race then proceeds to complete a full loop of this field. Part of this loop is on grass and then remainder of the loop joins the tarmac walkway along the Boyne. The route then brings runners back under the road to the westerly field in Porchfields where another loop is done before heading up-hill towards the finish beneath the Yellow Steeple.

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Creative Commons aims to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

These panels are precision made in my shop in Atlanta. It is a three tone Ebony, maple and brushed aluminum assembly. Very sheik and with its modern curves, it will blend into any sophisticated decor. These are sold seperately and each panel measures 36 wide, 77 high and 3/4 thick. These can be used seperatly to form a single wall decoration or several can be layed side by side to form a seamless unique wood paneling. The maple and ebony are fused together but the brushed aluminum is to be fastened in the field. this allows you to screw the panels to the wall prior to putting on the aluminum stars, so no exposed fastners. These can be cut to fit a room using a standard skill saw.Thank you in advance for your order www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=28911501

Hotel Unique de Ruy Ohtake nos Jardins em SP.

A unique hostel built inside a decommissioned Boeing 747 jet within a walking distance from Stockhom's Arlanda international airport.

From wikipedia...

"The hotel is located inside a decommissioned 747-200 jetliner built in 1976, which was last operated by Transjet, a Swedish airline that went bankrupt in 2002. It was originally built for Singapore Airlines and later served with Pan Am.

In December 2007, Sigtuna authorities granted a building permit for establishing Jumbo Hostel at the entrance to Arlanda airport. In January 2008, the aircraft was moved to a construction parking site where the first phase of the conversion began with the dismantling of the old interior, new paint and new decorations for the rooms. 450 seats were taken out and the plane was sanitized completely. The hostel was built like any house, subjected to the same demands on climate control and isolation, adhering to all common energy standards. Heating is achieved with an air-air inverter.

During the summer of 2008, the plane was towed to its final destination at the entrance to Stockholm-Arlanda Airport where it was placed on a concrete foundation with the landing gear secured in two steel cradles. The hostel opened late December 2008."

A unique, interactive exhibition inviting visitors to step into the shoes of individual migrants and experience their real life challenges opened today at the United Nations in Geneva.

“We recognize that at least half of all of those on the move are women, many of them with small children. They are also by far the most vulnerable along the migratory route and even after they get to their destination,” said William Swing, Director General of the International Organization for Migration. “No one, regardless of sex or gender, should be left alone and behind. This can be achieved only by adapting our services, our programs, and understanding the impact that gender can have on all that we do.”

Also speaking at the opening were Michael Moeller, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, Ambassador Geert Muylle, Permanent Representative of Belgium; Tressa Finnerty, Humanitarian Affairs Counsellor at the U.S. Mission; and Sigrun Habermann, Chief of the UN Library’s Cultural Diplomacy and Outreach Section.

Developed by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), the exhibition was co-sponsored by the U.S. Mission and the Permanent Mission of Belgium. It will remain on display on the ground floor of Building E at the United Nations Office in Geneva until October 3rd.
