The original powerhouse before being demolished. A unique building the likes of which I have never seen before, Built from concrete by the Buxton Lime Firms, very much in the art deco style but early on. The date scribed into the 'keystone' above the door was 1909. Such a sad loss and utter failure of English Heritage/Historic England to protect the site sufficiently but that's just my opinion..
This is a cross-eye photo. Best way I find is to place a small object halfway between image and eyes, look at object then slowly move towards eyes while being aware of images behind. You will see the two images separate and merge to form a third in the middle. When settled and relaxed you should be able to focus and lock-on and remove your finger.
Established in the early 1950's by Russell C. Wendell a donut machine salesman built ten locations of the now-defunct Big Donut Drive-In chain throughout the greater Los Angeles area (only four big donuts still survive) This building is one of the four left and is now called called Bellflower Bagels and It's a great example of programmatic architecture

Edwardian Masterpiece G84 9AJ
Famous Scot Charles Rennie MacKintosh (1868-1928) was first and foremost a trained Architect as well as furniture designer.
This large house was commissioned by Glasgow publisher Walter Blackie to design and built this unique building up on the hill overlooking the Firth of Clyde in Helensburgh and was completed around late 1903.
The weather hasn't been good to the old building with rain getting in behind the harling causing water ingress. Plans are being put in place to cover the whole building with a very large see-through shelter so they can begin it's restoration
The building and gardens are opened to the public and run by The National Trust for Scotland

The whole building is now covered is a protective shell to keep out the elements whilst still being opened to the public to view
Is located in Panfilovets’ Park and is probably the only wooden Cathedrals in the world. The cathedral is built without using any nails, which again, makes it pretty unique. The Cathedral was used as a museum after the ‘Revolution’, but was again restored to its original use as a Russian Orthodox Cathedral in 1990. The idea for a cathedral in Almaty was initiated by the bishop of Turkestan and Tashkent and was constructed between 1904 and 1907. It was believed that an ‘act of God’ saved the building from the devastation of the 1911 earthquake. The inside of the church is as elaborate as its exterior and is a member of the Russian Orthodox church. If entering the church, visitors should respect the customs of the church as this is a very active religious building.
This image captures a detailed close-up of the unique façade of Casa Batlló, designed by Antoni Gaudí, located in Barcelona, Spain. The intricate architecture features organic shapes and natural forms, along with vibrant stained glass windows that reflect light and color. This masterpiece of modernist architecture is known for its skeletal balconies and flowing stonework, embodying Gaudí’s innovative approach to design. Casa Batlló is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a prime example of the Modernisme movement in Catalonia.
The inner courtyard of Casa Batlló rises like a tranquil underwater cathedral. Covered in hand-glazed tiles shifting from deep sapphire to pale sky, it draws the eye upward—where light pours in like sun through water.

The Dunmore Pineapple House is tucked away within woods near the small town of Airth in Central Scotland and is a folly which represented that fact that then Estate grew pineapples in Scotland and yes hard to believe.
Now run by the National Trust for Scotland (NTS).
It can be leased for family breaks
This gift shop/crafts store is located on Race Street, just off Broadway, Jim Thorpe's main street. It contains an odd assortment of objects for sale. And, it's in a rather uniquely shaped buiding. The tourist town, in the Pocono Mountains area of northeastern pennsylvania, has quite a variety of shops, eating establishments, museums and other sights.

In the same parking lots as the former Telstar Drugs is this wonderful old business, still in operation. I know the business dates back many years (at least as far back as the 1960's) and is another local landmark, hopefully to be around for awhile yet.

Run by the National Trust for Scotland , the hidden gem Dunmore Pineapple is situated on the west bank of the River Forth near Airth in Stirlingshire. The pineapple folly has accommodation for vacations throughout the summer months.
Surprising enough as it may seem Pineapples were really grown in Scotland

This was a pretty view of the Seattle Public Library. What a phenomenal building/experience. I could spend DAYS photographing the little nooks and crannys of this place. The details of the yellow coded escalators and elevators make this place one of my favorites.
