A unique pub and building in the center of Sheffield..
Seems it used to be a nun's wash house, with tunnels underneath it that used to go from the Cathedral to the nunnery..
It's at the junction of Silver Street, Silver Street Head and Lea Croft.
Address 39 Silver Street Head.

The modern state-of-the-art heart pulse rate designed Glasgow Riverside Transport Museum is situated on the northern bank of the River Clyde built in the footprint of the former A&J Inglis Shipyard at Pointhouse beside the Kelvin which empties into the Clyde.
Reflecting on the large glass fronted windows are the masts of the historic Trading Barque 'Glenlee'. Both are free entry but donations are always welcome "Tradition & Modernity" all in one place"

Normally I'd say to leave a log building alone and it looks lovely. But I can't fault the folks who painted their log post office in the colors of the American flag.

The Golden Lake hotel-apartment complex in Hanoi has been crowned the world's first gold-plated hotel
The glistening gold-plated exterior which startles passers-by and according to local media, has 5,000 square meters of gilded ceramic on the outside. A large wall of the Hanoi Golden Lake hotel has startled many passers-by with its glistering gold-plated tiles shining.
The complex, which began construction in 2009, is 25-storeys high and located in the downtown Ba Dinh district of Hanoi, on the bank of the Giang Vo Lake.
Built by the Hoa Binh group, the Golden Lake boasts 24 carat gilded furniture, a rooftop infinity pool, and with a price tag of $6,500 per square meter, the complex is now one of the capital’s prime locations.
Nguyen Huu Duong, general director of the Hoa Binh Group, claims that the Golden Lake would become the world's first gold-plated hotel.
8 Spruce Street, originally known as Beekman Tower and currently marketed as New York by Gehry, is a 76-story skyscraper designed by architect Frank Gehry in the New York City borough of Manhattan at 8 Spruce Street in Lower Manhattan, just south of City Hall Plaza and the Brooklyn Bridge.
According to its official website, at 265 meters (870 feet) high, 8 Spruce Street will be the 12th tallest residential tower in the world and the second tallest residential building in the Western Hemisphere, upon the completion of One57, also in New York City. Completed in February 2011, the building was developed by Forest City Ratner, designed by Frank Gehry Architects and WSP Cantor Seinuk Structural Engineers, and constructed by Kreisler Borg Florman. It contains a public elementary school owned by the Department of Education. Above that and grade-level retail, the tower contains only residential rental units (898 in total), a rarity in New York’s Financial District. The skyscraper's structural frame is reinforced concrete, and in height and form, it bears a resemblance to Aqua, a 2009 skyscraper in Chicago.

The Tempe Center for the Arts (TCA), located at 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway, is one of the finest venues in Arizona – a jewel in the crown of a city known for its support of the arts. Plenty of parking is available to serve the center, which is just a .83 mile walk from the Mill Avenue/Third Street Metro Light Rail stop. Bus Route 48 serves the TCA from the downtown Transit Center, as well as the Light Rail stop.
The TCA is located on the southwest end of Tempe Town Lake and resides in a beautifully appointed 17-acre lakeside art park developed by Design Workshop, a Tempe landscape architecture firm.
The strikingly magnificent TCA, Designed by Tempe-based Architekton and award-winning Barton Myers Associates of Los Angeles, houses a state-of-the-art, 600-seat proscenium theater, a 200-seat studio theater and a 3,500 square-foot gallery. The Mode Gakuen Cocoon Tower, located in the bustling Shinjuku district of Tokyo, stands as a stunning symbol of modern architectural innovation. Completed in 2008 and designed by Tange Associates, this iconic skyscraper redefines Tokyo’s skyline with its sleek, cocoon-inspired design. Rising to a height of 204 meters (669 feet), the building's unique form and lattice-like exterior symbolize growth and learning, befitting its role as a vertical campus housing three educational institutions: Tokyo Mode Gakuen (fashion design), HAL Tokyo (IT and technology), and Shuto Ikō (medical training).
The tower’s architectural brilliance lies in its blend of aesthetics and functionality. The elliptical shape minimizes shadows cast on the surrounding area, while the glass and aluminum latticework not only enhances the building’s visual appeal but also reduces heat absorption. The structure is as environmentally conscious as it is striking, with design elements that prioritize energy efficiency.
What sets the Cocoon Tower apart is its departure from traditional block-like educational buildings. Its futuristic design represents Tokyo's constant push toward innovation and creativity. Situated amidst Shinjuku’s towering office buildings and bustling streets, the Cocoon Tower adds a touch of elegance and artistic flair to the urban environment.
Visitors can marvel at the tower from various vantage points in Shinjuku, making it a favorite subject for photographers and architecture enthusiasts alike. The Mode Gakuen Cocoon Tower encapsulates Tokyo’s spirit: a harmonious blend of tradition, progress, and visionary design.
The lack of washrooms at the top of the Peak meant I had some time to walk around the surrounding, and I chanced upon a couple taking a selfie as the setting sun creates a warm, glow on the Peak's building.

Loss of a local landmark... A very distinct old drug store that recently closed up for business.

The inner courtyard of Casa Batlló rises like a tranquil underwater cathedral. Covered in hand-glazed tiles shifting from deep sapphire to pale sky, it draws the eye upward—where light pours in like sun through water.
This is the Holiday Inn 3D Model I made, and I even modeled the old vintage Holiday Inn neon sign from the 1960's! It's super high res all on its own. Its also animated and has 400 lights. The Building and grounds are nearly complete Let me know what you think! (Looks best in super high res 3000+ x 2000+ ...
This project will take 3-7 years of modeling/texturing. This city will be used for modding in games, as well as the comic I am designing. All Models are high Resolution meshes. These Buildings are real-world creations, some models of real-world shops/stores are new architectural designs by myself.
Visit www.tgeweb.com for soon to be released new renderings. (I will post more here as well, but my website will have more in depth coverage on this project. I'm designing the webpages for the 3D city now).
All Models are made by Dan Huling aka 'Ziroc'. Copyright 2014
The original powerhouse before being demolished. A unique building the likes of which I have never seen before, Built from concrete by the Buxton Lime Firms, very much in the art deco style but early on. The date scribed into the 'keystone' above the door was 1909. Such a sad loss and utter failure of English Heritage/Historic England to protect the site sufficiently but that's just my opinion..
This is a cross-eye photo. Best way I find is to place a small object halfway between image and eyes, look at object then slowly move towards eyes while being aware of images behind. You will see the two images separate and merge to form a third in the middle. When settled and relaxed you should be able to focus and lock-on and remove your finger.
